Jack will be back for at least two more days from hell after 24 was renewed through the 2008-09 season.

Producers have promised that the upcoming seventh season will mark a change in direction for the show, following a season widely criticised by its fanbase for being uninspired.

"We're re-creating the series," exec producer Howard Gordon told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is [still] going to be a real-time thriller. Beyond that, it's an open book."

Besides Kiefer Sutherland, who is contracted until the end of season 8 in May 2009, season 7 will see an entirely new cast. Some existing cast members may return, the publication says, "but in different roles". The show will also be based out of a new, non-LA location.

Season six wraps in the US with a two hour finale next Monday, May 21.

Mmm... non-LA location! New York?
New cast, but I bet Chloe stays LOL!

Jack Bauer on holidays stopping terrorists :).

I'd love to see the show having some big changes in its construction.

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

Great news for the show this. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

Season six has been absolute donkey wank.

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

I remember reading somewhere a while ago that they were planning to set a season in New York or London. Either one (or both) would be superb!

And we've got the film to look forward to (due out after season 7) \\:o/

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

It has been disappointing....but the latest two episodes were great! :D

Meh, breaking into CTU I've seen done twice before, and the 'presidential aide get's seduced by a spy' was done 138163178361835168131 times better in Series 1. I really hope they do change the format for the next series. I've been watching Series 3 lately, it's so much more tense and realistic. It's just brilliant.

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

As with nearly all things in life, they'll never beat the first one. Great writing that took years not minutes, much better musical score, genuinely brilliant.

Sounds like things are going to get better though - New York would be a great setting, but I hope it's not set in London, that would just be weird (and full of awful accents, "awight mistah Bowar, av you got any nooz mate?")

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

I've enjoyed every series apart from parts of 4 (although Marwan being Dr Evil was brilliant and saved the series)and this current shit tip. 5 is up there with 1 and 3 for me.
Here's some greatness from Series 1, I really miss this shit....

Jack: You probably don't think I could force this towel down your throat, but trust me I can. All the way. Except that I'd hold onto this little bit at the end. When your stomach starts to digest the towel, I pull it out. Taking your stomach lining with it. Most people probably take about a week to die. It's very painful.

Hahahahahhahah, BRING BACK MENTAL JACK.

That was the film. Keifer Sutherland, the main man himslef said part of 24: The Film will be filmed in London or did he say Engerland. Anyway, me, rockykabir, Jack Bauer have planned to go down to see him wearing our 24 t-shirts! Can't wait. We can have a Evo-Web get-together, no gays allowed sorry.

Agreed. Season One also developed the characters much better.

Yeah, I'm ready for a fresh approach with new characters. I still have faith in the writers and producers to come up with something fresh. It seems that there have been alot of "I've seen that befores" this season.

I'm still "jacked up" for the finale though.

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

Fuckin hell, 2 Jack Bauers here now

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

We're here to take over the forums.

Jack Bauer 2, I'm being told that CWright has Chloe in his safehouse in Warton...

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

I read a good article on 24 the othe day from one of the producers. He was saying how they have made mistakes in this series with the writing but told fans it wont happen again!

Basically he said that the first three days were wrote out and the arc of the story done while days 4 and 5 they were pretty much winging it as they went along. They tried doing that again this year but felt they ended up down to many dead ends and repeated themselves to much, and will do a mix of the two next year.

Re: 24 - Two more seaons!

about time they did a new setting. they should have done that for season 6, aka location being china! they need to realy improve this series has its the worste out of heroes, prison break and lost

24 Resets Clock for Day 7 on Jan. 13

The innovative, addictive, Emmy Award-winning television series "24" resets the clock for Season Seven with a special two-night premiere event Sunday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox.

In keeping with Fox's commitment to airing original programming year-round, the intense season will unfold in "24's" regular 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT time period beginning Monday, Jan. 14, and will continue to air all originals all season into June.

"Day 7" of "24" will continue the show's unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. With CTU dismantled, the show's setting moves to Washington, DC, where Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) faces trial for his actions in the pursuit of justice. Bauer's day gets off to a shocking start when former colleague Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), last seen in "Day 5," returns after being left for dead by a terrorist conspirator in CTU's infirmary.

"Tony's uncertain fate near the end of 'Day 5' left the door open for his return," said executive producer/show-runner Howard Gordon. "And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance the '24' tribute to a major character's demise we always kept this as a possibility."

Bernard's return highlights a list of notable cast members clocking in for Season Seven, including the previously announced Cherry Jones as President Allison Taylor and Janeane Garofalo as FBI Agent Janis Gold. Colm Feore will play First Gentleman Henry Taylor and Bob Gunton is White House Chief of Staff Ethan Kanin.

FBI Agents assigned to the team investigating the crisis befalling Bauer include Garofalo's Agent Gold in addition to Annie Wersching as Agent Renee Walker, Jeffrey Nordling as Agent Larry Moss and Rhys Coiro as Agent Sean Hillinger. John Billingsley portrays security specialist Michael Latham. Although CTU is no longer, Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

Roll on January :D
