Berlusconi attacks 'lap-dog' Shevchenko

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has launched a scathing personal attack on Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko.

The Ukrainian has struggled to make an impact since his £30million move from the San Siro and the former Italy Prime Minister has chosen to take a public view on Shevchenko's private life - describing him as a 'lap-dog' for his supermodel wife.

Berlusconi, who recently appeared to be considering trying to attract 30-year-old Shevchenko back to Milan on loan, has cut short that charm offensive.

'A true Milanista and a real man would not have behaved like this,' he told Gazzetto dello Sport.

'At my home I'm in charge and decide what happens. Instead, when Shevchenko's wife shouts, he runs under the bed like a lap-dog.

'His wife ordered him to London with their children, where the fog will do their lungs the world of good.'

I partly agree.. I am not going to get all self-righteous about his statement but how did this man maintain his public image in office when he is prone to outbursts like this?

because socialists parties here in italy are composed by pigs too :( (and this is told by a socialist).

in fact, even if he is a big chauvinist pig, he has what here in italy we call "charisma", appeal. I can understand how people in europe don't understand how could he arrive in parliament. The truth is that he is very good in "persuading people".....

btw, even if we are one of the most civilised countries in the world, our politicians are very poor :(

When Berlusconi won the elections, some years ago, people were so tired of our lazy "left" politicians.... Berlusconi was something new, fresh. People thought anybody would have been better than our politicians (no need to say they were wrong)... so they voted for berlusconi. Is quite similar to what happened in california with arnold swarzenegger :lol:

What really scares me is that now our socialist government is doing so bad that people is starting to think to berlusconi...... again :(
