Bundesliga Thread 2012/13

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Haven't been able to watch any German football this season. Would love to since it's one of my favourite football leagues.

BTW who the hell is this TSG Hoffenheim team!?!?

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

loaded team from the south, they're only up there cause their owner is dietmar hopp, co-founder of software giant SAP.

they are playing fantastic football, but most of the other fans hate them. :) obviously.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Only up there because of Hopp?
Most every other Bundesliga team could've bought the likes of Ba, Ibisevic, Obasi, Salihovic, Beck, Compper and co. and they are (alongside coach Rangnick) responsible for the great football they play currently. Hopp did pump up the club in terms of infrastructure and everything, but he has yet to land a huge transfer coup. (Eduardo was the first and, as of yet, last really big transfer)

Personally I think Dietmar Hopp is a positive example in how an investor should treat and help a club. Of course most fans and even club officials complain about this artificial-looking concept, but that's pure envy, if you ask me. Like I said: none of the key players are (or should I say: were? ;)) stars in any form. Rangnick and his staff made those guys the team they are now.

I am curious if they can keep this up the whole season. Leverkusen already showed that Hoffenheim has yet to become a real top-team. I especially look forward to matchday 16 :P

All in all this season has been absolutely fantastic so far. Leverkusen and Hoffenheim play some brilliant fast paced attacking football. Bayern and Bremen are as good as ever offensively but shockingly shaky in defense which already made for some terrific results. (and some not so terrific: Bayern losing 2:5 at home?!?!)

As for my favorite club, they slowly but surely regain their shape from last season, though I doubt any similarities will occur under Klinsmann. He does favor attacking football after all. It seems quite a mission to fix "Hitzfeld-ian" mechanisms, though. ;)
Best player so far: Schweinsteiger! The boy finally plays brilliant for more than 2 games in a row. He's gained that little bit of extra pace and has become significantly better in defensive dribbles. Last game against Bielefeld was his worst, though.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

i have a completely different opinion, sorry. ;)

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Tell me, how are the clubs Chemnitzer FC, Dynamo Dresden and TeBe doing ? Has the 3. Bundesliga had a good start or not? Do many people go to these games ?

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Dynamo Dresden has some serious problems in the new 3rd professional league. They are 17th of 20 team. My cousin studies in Dresden and attends most games they play at home. I don't know how good the league does but I'm sure attendance rates are good.

Chemnitz plays one league below and is ranked 10th, if I'm not mistaken.
TeBe plays even lower but actually has high hopes to be promoted. They're currently first of their respective league with a 11 point gap to the second placed team.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Cool, thanks for the info Rentalkid, I always remember the eastern teams had fantastic support in the olden days. I've always been a bit suprised at the way the top clubs in Germany are so spread out. It's not like England or Italy where some cities have 2 or more teams in the top league (I accept that a few years ago 1860 and Bayern were in 1.Bundesliga), and it suprises me that a city of the magnitude of Berlin has only one team and even then it's not a very strong team (i.e. not in the top 5 on average).

I've seen a few games in Germany and they have all been top class, great football, passionate fans (yet not problems with trouble at all), good stadiums and as well it's very cheap to see matches in Germany (well it was before the £ : € exchange went wrong)!

Yep, support in the eastern regions is especially remarkable even in the lower leagues. But I got to say that if trouble happens in German stadiums, it's usually over there, too, unfortunately. Some clubs in the eastern regions have more or less serious problems with neo-nazis and hooligans, though nothing major has happened for quite some time now. (Fortunately)

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

It would be great if Wolfsburg could win this years' title in the Bundesliga. And yes that was a great goal.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Quality goal, good control. Who scored it?

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Grafite, former Le Mans striker (Brazilian)

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Ah, seen his name around on Football Manager :)

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Bundesliga is very underrated here in Asia, Some quality goals as well! Hopefully soon Diego will be joining Juventus during the summer.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

well...horrible replays. were is the view from the stands? i've been looking for a decent replay of this all over, nothing.

Re: Bundesliga Thread 2008/2009 New Season

Bundesliga r0cks!! but it always has. Amazing league.

Klinsy sacked after first loss to Schalke since Bayern's move to Allianz arena.

Stuttgart making a late run for the title and Hertha once again making a go at it. Bayern are still in this in my opinion as are leaders Wolfsburg of course.
