Chelsea Thread

Sulph

Goodbye...
28 September 2003
William said he might be leaving!

Thats terrible!

Hopefully he stays but he said the prospect of AC Milan is huge.

I dont see AC Milan turning their heads away with the ageing Nesta and Stam.

Noooooooooooooooo

What options do we have if he goes?

Kompany?
Andrade?
Carragher? :p

Gotta love this quote:

"I remember when a France team-mate told me once, 'When you wear the AC Milan shirt, it shows you have succeeded'. That makes you think."

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Hahah, no doubt about it, AC Milan are a very prestigious club.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

I'm not sure if Kompany will leave Anderlecht...he is at university, doing a degree in economics...and allegedly he would have said that he considers University more important than his football carreer...quite a character that guy...

PS: Sulph i don't want to hurt you but that signature is a litle bit ridiculous...by doing that you honour Arsenal...quite a few Arsenal fans did the same thing when Arsenal had their unbeaten season...it's better being beaten in the Premiership than loose that one match too many in the CL which Chelsea (and Arsenal) have done for a couple of seasons know...i don't think Mourinho and is players care about silly statistics like that....and what are you going to do if Chelsea are going to an unfortunate run of for example 4 consecutive defeats (higly improbable, i know)..you will change your signature.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Oh and one more thing Sulph: never be arrogant while successfull..people will remind that and will come crashing down on you when Chelsea looses...(and sooner or later they will no matter how good they are)

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Kompany will be the more likely one to join chelsea. Andrade is not exactly young, and I doubt he would like to sit on the bench, he wouldn't be able to play with Carvalho and Terry there.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Pointless making this thread. Might as well open the old one again.

As for defenders, Chelsea get someone older than Kompany. You dont want too many young players. Too much of anything is bad. I'd get a older defender.

The old thread was closed at Nutmegs request as he didnt want to update it any more, he got sick and tired of the constant flaming too

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

It's important to be magnanimous in both victory and defeat. I'd recommend just keeping that warm glow on the inside, people.:D

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Huth is brilliant. I love that lad, he is almost identical to John Terry. The only problem is Terry isnt the fastest of defenders, and neither is Huth, which ristricts us. Currently we have William Gallas to solve that problem.

and Carvalho looks may be deceiving but he's a pacey defender

Your opinion of Huth is like my opinion of Fletcher. We might like our players but no one else can see that.

That may be true, however it just doesent seem like he has the right kind of build for his position.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Spanish press quoted Lampard's representant saying that he's looking for a new house in Barcelona, last weekend Sport diary published, and that he might come as soon as this winter. Has English press published anything about that?

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Doesent matter because it has nothing to do with a transfer.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

I can't see Lampard leaving Chelsea. That's just stupid speculation by the press to sell newspapers.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Yeah that has to be it, Gallas is another story though, he seems to be bored and wanting a fresh new challenge. On teh complete opposite of the spectrum, we have Robben saying "Chelsea is paradise", so yeah.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

From Financial Times article by Sepp Blatter:

Blatter said: 'A fortunate few clubs are richer than ever before. What makes this a matter of concern is that, all too often, the source of this wealth is individuals with little or no history of interest in the game, who have happened upon football as a means of serving some hidden agenda.

'Having set foot in the sport seemingly out of nowhere, they proceed to throw pornographic amounts of money at it. What they do not understand is that football is more about grass-roots than idols; more about giving entertainment and hope to the many than bogus popularity to a predictable few; more about respecting others than sating individual greed, whether for adulation or money.'

Its good that he doesn't name names...

I dont think Lampard will leave Chelsea too, as we all know his wife is spanish, so that's make sense if he want to buy one more house there. For vacation... for her wife's family... etc. and he got the money to do that (buy a house and never go there...).

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Duffs out for about a month.
I reckon Shaun Wright Phillips will get the nod on the right flank, with J.Cole on the Bench, or vice versa, its going to be a tough game, as Bolton always gives Chelsea a hard time, but It will be a cracker!

Come on Chelsea Come on Chelsea! :applause:

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Duff being out is a problem he has been one of our better ones this season, however im sure that SWP can come in and cram in assists.

Re: The All New (Bitching-Free) Chelsea FC Thread

Can you please send me your source, not that I dont believe you, i just want to know.

Re: Chelsea FC Thread - Bolton are going down!

So, Duff is out for us, and Okocha is out for them, seems even.

Available players

Cudicini, Cech, Del Horno, Johnson, Ferreira, Gallas, Terry, Carvalho, Essien, Geremi, Lampard, Makelele, Robben, Drogba, Huth, Crespo, Joe Cole, Gudjohnsen, Wright-Phillips.

JM - "I can rotate a little bit, I can use players who have not been involved in international week to try to give some fresh blood to the team."

What does this mean for the starting lineup?

Referee file - Rob Styles

Matches Red Yellow Average
7 1 19 2.86]/b]

He reffed this game

27 Aug Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Chelsea M4

R 1 Mido (VC) 0
Y 3 Gardner, Reid, Davids Essien, Terry, Joe Cole 3

Rotation? This should mean that the defence stays the same, rotation with the wingers and Crespo upfront

This still leaves me to thinkg what will happen with Eidur, he may start. If he does, he will play against his former club.

Re: Chelsea FC Thread - Chelsea v Bolton

Hmm..down a goal, plus Speed hit the bar. Wright Phillips forced them to make a sub. Pederson <> Gardner.

Re: Chelsea FC Thread - Chelsea v Bolton

4' 0 - 1 Goal Giannakopoulos
52' Drogba Goal 1 - 1
55' Lampard Goal 2 - 1
58' Red Card Gardner
59' Lampard Goal 3 - 1
61' Drogba Goal 4 - 1

:applause:
