Crazy .. i've only scored twice directly from free kicks in PES6. In PES5 i did it for a level around 1 out of 3 success rate.
Is there some new secret for free kicks in PES6 ..??

Thanks guyz

yeh pes6 keepers are fkn smart now.

they move before the ball releases from the ground, and cover the near post easily.

i've only scored 2 times from direct fk and pes5 was like 1/2 times i'd score from around 30m.

but it guess its more realistic, because its not that easy to score fks in real life.

Actually the goalkeeper movements in PES5/WE9 were very close to how real-life goalies move in terms of speed and reactions. So if they were trying to make it harder to score freekicks, they went at it the completely wrong way imo. :( The freekicks are the main reason I don't play PES6.

I think PES6 free kicks are a lot more realistic! I scored loads with Beckham on the International Challenge and I score quite a few with C. Ronaldo for Man Utd.
I like them being slightly more difficult, people online cannot now get fluke wins from free kicks as often now and its a real skill to be good at them yourself.
Practice, practice, practice... Its possible to score at least 60% of your free kicks from 21m-28m with anyone with fk accuracy over 75. My mate had Everton and scored one against me with Tim Howard! LOL! a bit lucky but still, shows even the worst free kick takers can score them.
And its no reason to stop playing PES6, how many goals are scored from free kicks in real life? Not that many unless you have a Beckham/Juninho and I pretty much always test the keeper with the top free kick takers.
I took advice from someone on PESFan and from my knowledge of free kicks on pes4/5, if you want to get it up and over the wall power it up just under half way then on the run up tap to power slightly more, this adds some dip to the kick.
They are hard, but once you get the hang of them it is a good asset to have to your game.

Yeah i did it sometimes as well not on purpose, when i hit it not strong enough, and i tried to gain more power afterwards. The result was interesting :D

But in the training, there's a tutorial saying that you need to press Triangle for long freekick, and X for short freekick (while the bar gauge is still there), which is new referring back to PES5. Do you do it this way?

Thankx

Triangle is meant to make the free kick stronger, with more top-spin (so it'll go high), and X will make it a bit weaker (so it'll dip). If you time the button presses right it can affect where the ball lands very well.

R1 no longer makes the free kick stronger, either - I expect this throws a lot of people off. R1 and L1 are used to adjust the direction of the free kick during the run up now.

yeah .. but MU doesnt have that good freekick taker. Actually now I was doing pretty good with Cristiano Ronaldo. Like my last 6 freekicks.. always .. i said always .. hit the bar haha :D

Yeah, Ronaldo is decent at free kicks, I use him or Rooney. Normally Ronaldo though.

How can you use the triangle for power? When I use the triangle in a direct freekick situation, he makes a short pass?

I don't think it's realistic when the keeper makes a giant dive catches the ball even it's bound to go wide.

I scored a cracker with palermo last night against a guy called BeinZ in off the bar.

I find it is always the underrated players who will always find the net for me than your free kick "specialist" more because i feel their lower shot power always gives you more lift over walls
