Well here we are again in a brand new home for the season, isn’t this nice? Feels a bit roomier that’s for sure and hopefully it will bring in some more players, it is the longest running game on the forums and it has evolved as we have gone on. The winner of the game in our first season only had 9 points, shocking I know!!

I know that the Premiership doesn’t start til the 13th but I figured that we may as well get the season underway with those teams who got dumped out of the Prem last season and see how they do with their opening day in the Championship. The rules this season aint gonna change but I figured as it’s a new one we may as well have a recap so everyone knows how to play, it’s a nice welcome to those who aint played before.

As it’s the start of the season we will go easy and start with 3 normal league games and the Community Shield (I nearly called it the Charity Shield, why did they change the name?) to predict the score for. As well as the score though I want you to let me know whether you think it will be a HOME win, an AWAY win or a DRAW. What I also want you to bear in mind is that your score doesn’t have to match your H/A/D pick so while you could in theory have your Home team down to win 4-0 you wouldn’t have to have it down as a Home win. You get awarded 2 points for getting the score correct and the one for you H/A/D pick. If that doesn’t make sense just wait for one of our regulars to post or PM me.

I almost forgot the prize that is on offer for our winner at the end of the season! If you are our game leader when we get to the end of this years game then you get the grand total of 40 quid, which should hopefully buy you a football shirt of your choice but to be honest once it leaves me you can spend it on whatever you like.

Here is your first set of games for this season:

Crystal Palace Vs Luton
Norwich Vs Coventry
Southampton Vs Wolves

Sunday 7th August - Community Shield

Arsenal Vs Chelsea - After 90 minutes

"This is where you let me know if the game is going to be a HOME win, an AWAY win or a DRAW and it doesn’t have to agree with your score prediction so you can hedge your bets if you are unsure. For getting that bit right though you only get a point coz its dead easy." (CWright)

so that means if a match ended in a draw and my bet was a win for either team BUT because i wrote DRAW next to the score i will get one point ??

and if i what i said is right, that means i wont risk anything if I keep DRAW next to each win ? because that might get me one point every time the score is a DRAW ?

DOnt know if am right, correct me if am wrong !

You are making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Let me give you another example:

Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 4 HOME

Lets say that Arsenal go on to win 2-0, you would get 1 point for saying Home win. Does that make sense now?

Saturday 6th August - The Championship

Crystal Palace 2-1 Luton HOME
Norwich 1-2 Coventry DRAW
Southampton 3-1 Wolves HOME

Sunday 7th August - Community Shield

Arsenal 2-5 Chelsea - AWAY
