Welcome back. I was gonna write up some long intro about the big transfer moves this Summer but I really don't want to write about that twat Ronaldo so I am just gonna move on.
The Predicts season this year will be kicking off on a Friday night due to Boro playing Sheff U then, I am wondering how many people will miss this game and just post in time for Saturdays games. I guess time will tell...
The other mildly annoying thing for me is that I usually cover the 3 teams that went down as our 3 matches to start us off but West Brom are playing against Newcastle so that only gives me 2 games so I am throwing in my new favourite team Peterboro who start life in the Championship against Derby. Nearly forgot the Community Shield too, yeah thats next weekend too!
Let me explain the points system just to remind myself and everyone else how the scoring is working this season. You get 3 points for getting the score from the game right, along with that though you can also get 2 point for predicting whether it will be a HOME win, AWAY win or a DRAW. These dont have to match though so you could go for 1-0 and DRAW if you aint sure. Hope that makes sense, it always makes me think as I am typing it...
Oh, just one more thing before we get underway with this weeks games. As I did with last season there is gonna be a mini bonus for the Community Shield. So for this I want you to name me the first scorer and the time of the first goal (You will have a 5 minute window for the time of the scorer so, for example, should you put 23 and the goal is scored in the 18th minute you will get the points) 2 points for each by the way, I did say it was only a mini bonus.
Right, here are your games, starting Friday
fri 7 august
championship
Middlesboro Vs Sheffield United - KO 8pm
sat 8 august
championship
Derby Vs Peterboro - KO 3pm
West Brom Vs Newcastle - KO 530pm
sun 9 august
community shield
Chelsea Vs Man United - KO 3pm
PS I almost forgot about the prize, at the end of the season the winner will get a specially designed mug. Not too bad for a game you don't pay for eh?
