FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Yes please! That looks fantastic.
And also i didnt use LUT, where to put it?
Sure, I have to tweak a couple of things so will post it once that’s done. I don’t have an overly sophisticated system for using, it’s just with reshade and for night matches you’ll just need to toggle on a few different settings compared to day.

I’ll upload the whole folder so you won’t need to worry about putting the LUT anywhere else.

So with this method, Would i be able to copy/paste this over my existing FIFA 16 folder in order to keep my MW patch and compatibility with your stadium server with out having to reinstall everything?

Unfortunately you would have to install moddingway again. As for my server since you would be using the same patch and the same game directory path, you would have to add the files that are in the game folder of the app, add the line to the cl.ini, regenerate and you would be good to go.

I will try, when I find some time, to see if we can just copy paste a bunch of files (exe ect...) in an already existing installed game.
I have tried with the exe and the dbdata.dll ,but I get a crash to desktop at the language selection screen. Following the suggestion of @Ciais, I removed the data_patch.big and bh, which are indeed absent from the retail version, but that didn't do the trick either. I will check the files that have different size between the versions and see if I can come with something. It would be easyser to switch between version and patches that way and also much smaller to download.
I will keep you in touch.

Here is the lighting mod. I put this together super quickly and I've only tested in clear conditions, so I'm sure it can be improved etc but to me it looks better then default, especially night matches

You'll need reshade installed already before you use it - https://reshade.me/

To install, delete your ' reshade-shaders' folder and then just copy and replace the files into your FIFA 16 directory (not including the instructions file obviously).

There's some instructions in the download about the effects - you'll need to turn on LUT, Luma Sharpen and Fake HDR for day matches, and for night matches add to these by turning on the remaining 5 effects. So all 8 effects used during night matches, and only the 3 used for day matches. You can tweak them yourself in game also.

Credit to @papinho81 for the LUT effect.

Oh and I've never shared reshade effects before so if it doesn't work, let me know as I may need to include a different file in there too - not really sure!

Anyway, enjoy!

I just discovered I'd been playing 16 on the wrong version this whole time :FAIL:I'd never played 16 until a few months ago and was playing 1.0.7 without realising. Says a lot that most people say it was the worst version of the game and it's still miles better than current offerings. Since @papinho81 posted the other day, I went and got myself 1.0.0 (from the Super Deluxe version) and wow - I see what the talk is about -so much better again. Animations being smoother is a big takeaway and as Pap said it's just more organic. I really recommend following @Ciais tutorial a couple of pages back and assign tight kits to all players. I think it makes the player models look so much better. Apparently another football game was released today, but 1.0.0 has kept me from being interested in it at all.

Don't get me wrong, I found even 1.07 enjoyable, but the 1.01 or whatever the first one is is on another level. Scoring chances are hard to come by.
After seeing videos of the 2021 versions of FIFA and PES, this will keep me company until those are in the $5 bin

I've been looking up camera adjustments, it seems like no-one has had much luck in regards to adjusting camera height. I'm wanting to lower the default broadcast camera. Anyone know if this can be done? I can mod the zoom, just not height...

That's correct at least with broadcast camera. You can have better luck with Iso camera if I remember correctly which are normally replay cameras.

I tried these and quite liked some, but they just seem to do strange zoom in and outs. Can this be avoided?

This my take on early version of the game (worth what it worth).

The v1.01 @Ciais shared is the most difficult version of 16 I have played. CPU defense are really good (I am also talking about poor team defense here). They rarely commit when they should not, they are extremely well organized. Your attackers run have to be very short or they are put quickly offside. Defenders are also catching quick attackers more quickly (a bit of catch up). On the other side the user attack is nerfed. It is really hard (at least on manual controls) to send a good cross in the box (most of the time I am over hitting mines). Teammates, when they do run, are doing very small almost useless runs. I feel I have to press R1 to ask them to do the runs. Long play is really not a good option with that version. I feel I am forced to play a more possession based approach to create decent chances. The CPU is also really sharp in attack (bad teams too). Mistakes are often punished immediately. Overall cpu players are not really prone to mistakes (even low rated players.). Animation wise you can quite often see sped up animations that looks a bit awkword.

The v1.00 is easier but in my opinion the difficulty is better balanced. The CPU is more human, making defensive mistakes (some time doing the bad DDA thing which rarely happens on 1.01), bad players are more often doing bad controls, making bad choices ect. On the human side, you can really make nice passing moves because teamtes are doing runs more often, and in general more intelligent runs. It is really fun to create dynamic move, or sending a long ball and actually having a chance to create something out of it. I feel it is often easier to control the game against a lower side, you can feel you have an advantage. Dribbling is more rewarding because catch up is less present than in the 1.01. Crossing is a good balanced alternative.
This version is in my opinion very close from the demo if not identical. Animations doesn't suffer as much of speeding up I mentioned above.

Both version of course suffer from the 16 main syndrome, which is a too high passing succes of the cpu. But I believe the way pass stats are counted is a bit misslieading, as on 1.00, when pressed, the CPU will send the ball in the crow more often than not and it has no impact on passing stats.

When I though the best (for me) I could play was v1.01, I felt like playing something else than footy games, but with 1.00 I am happy again.

PS: All this is based on default sliders and no gameplay mods

I agree with 1.01 version. I never played 1.00 (thats the demo gameplay right? I don't have access to that file as I never downloaded it). I still think lowering the pass speed mitigates some of the problems of the CPU success rate without neutering them.
Heck, I even found version 1.07 with Cialis .ini file to be much, much better.

Nope it is not the demo, but it plays almost like the demo.

The game is so good at heart to me that I've always had moderately fun even with the latest patches, at least with mods on. 1.01 is indeed probably the best you can find on pc, anyway.

However I hope for my next pc Ps3 emulation will finally be on point, would love to play Fifa 16 1.00, shame that wth the pc version it's impossible to do so. I'd buy one for my little used Ps3, but it's practically impossible to find.

So how did you get on, anything new to report with an easy installation process?

Honestly my only problem with this game is passing stat not being accounted for CPU teams. For some reason, Sergio Busquest, Fabregas and Pirlo passes the same way as a league 2 side. If anyone manages to fix this, this game would be perfect.

Could we global edit the database to create a bigger discrepancy between good and average passers?

Nah I added his face and transferred him over. I’m in the process of collecting just the new season premier league kits at the moment and adding them in myself.
