I sure am. I'm still confused on which files to send people to get it running correctly so if you're up to test it out for me let me know!

I'm using v1.00 with a few minor slider adjustments (55 pass error, 52 shot speed, 47 pass speed, 55 line height, 45 first touch, 70 power bar). My cl.ini I just use the following. I find it's playing great!

Have been enjoying fifa 20 the last couple weeks with klebstar sliders. However, it does feel like a lot of freedom was ripped out by the last patch, has a kind of rigidity to it, loss of alive ness and randomness, that maybe wasnt that great to begin with. Even playing fifa 17 and 18 demos shows more freedom there.
Theres also a spongy, imprecise feel to it that can make it feel indistinct as an experience.

Anyway, what sent me back to 16 was the sudden realisation: theres no need for tactics in 20. Although there is variety in matches and they do play out differently with different teams, games are either in constant motion, end to end with no midfield which means you simply cant assess how tactics could change the game or...

Games are gridlocked with virtually no movement on the pitch at all.

For a while, these two types of matches can be fun but after a while, theres a sense of not being able to influence them from a tactical or strategic viewpoint.

So I went back to fifa 16, using OS sliders, version 7 from initial set. Lowered passing speed a bit more which gave more weight to the ball.
Also I lowered the power up bar which made passing feel less spindly, more tactile.
And played Moenchengladbach vs Leverkuson.

And the game is vital and dynamic but it's also stable. And what do you know? I can 'see' the match flow, I can see where I can make tactical changes to influence the game.
This alone has probably set me on fifa 16 for now.
I'm playing with teams I dont really know to avoid that odd, slightly melancholy feeling i get playing with out of date teams in spain and england.

One issue I have. I think shots are too powerful, they zip so quickly, i dont really see them properly.
I have keepers set at 15 and shot speed at 51 as per OS sliders.
Can anyone recommend a good shot speed setting to be able to see and feel the shot flight better?

There was a beautiful shot in this thread a few days back where you could really see the flight of the ball...
 
It sure does feature the classic kit models! I wonder if they’ll add scoreboards for the tournaments, that would be amazing.
Nice one! Is there a way to assign them to the 1990 World Cup teams too? I think that'd be the last year the teams wore shorts that short, They started wearing slightly longer ones for Euro 92 onwards.

I’m not exactly sure, but I’d say it would be using db master.
 
I've reduced shot speed by 6 points. Now getting really nice speeds and trajectories...previously shots left the boot at benny hill speeds and you just couldnt compute the flight, which meant no satisfaction. Having to hold the button longer means more sense of effort and winding up the shot.

Reducing the speed at which my power bar fills had also added more weight to ground passes and got rid of main issue which was a feeling of weediness or spindly feel to the game.

Playing 10 min halves broadcast cam. Matches have clear phases depending on the score.
I'm genuinely amazed at the attacking moves you can put together. The fact that you can actually manoeuvre your defensive midfielders properly and it makes a difference how skilled and composed you are is something I havent felt in a long time. The joy of defending with skill.

I find myself mirroring central midfielders in real life when an attacker has the ball in the inside left channel, running at my penalty box from say 40 yards out. I don't just sprint across, I hold the middle ground protecting the central area of the pitch as I know play will come back my way or the opposition will go wide and cross it. Exactly what I see Gini Wijnaldum, Henderson, Fernandinho do each week (the one time Gini got pulled against City earlier in the season, city scored).

Of course, this depends on the AI playing properly tempo'd football, which thankfully it does. Because the AI conforms to proper attack patterns, predicting them becomes possible.

Playing as Arsenal at home to Leicester, it was amazing how close it looked to football. Also how many times I said to myself "that doesn't/couldnt happen in fifa 20".
The level of freedom and randomness and variety is genuinely surprising.
Of course I never played v1.00 all those years ago. I enjoyed the later patched game, but nothing like this.

Rather than a few days of joy/nostalgia, this may be a bona fide masterpiece. If the body shapes were better, with more weight to players, it would be, indisputably.
 
Cant believe that you have to purchase an EA subscription to play this game for newcomers. I was really looking forward to trying out these mods.
 
Little indicator mod here. Ideal for those wanting a larger indicator, for those using a replay camera without an indicator, or if you want to turn your indicator on and off during the game. It's just the FIFA trainer, but without the button prompts - so essentially just a grey circle under the selected player. You can turn it on and off in game just as you would with the trainer.

To install, just copy into your FIFA 16 data folder and regenerate. Note: If you have the trainer file in data\sceneassets\presentation then delete it.

You can have two patches, but there's a couple of things to do to activate whichever patch you want to use.

1. Whichever folder is called 'FIFA 16' is the one Origin reads. So for example if I'm playing with FIP, I have that folder called 'FIFA 16' and I'll have the classic patch labelled 'FIFA 16 Classic'. When I want to use the classic I change it's name to 'FIFA 16' and label FIP folder 'FIFA 16 FIP'.

2. My Documents data (this has squads, etc). Same process. Have a backup of each data and whichever patch you're using make sure that data is in My Documents\FIFA 16.

Judging by your screens @Anth James as gorgeous as FIFA 16 is, I feel the visuals don't lend themselves well to the classic teams, Especially the kit models. At least on the 14 Classic Patch the baggier shirts are more appropriate to the style they wore in that era, Just a shame the 80's & early 90's teams don't have the tight shirts and shorts in that patch.

I was thinking today actually how you said a little while back that the cartoon style of 14’s graphics suit the classic patch better. After playing 14’s patch I know what you mean. I don’t think it applies to all, but certainly some of the patch.

I hate the baggier look shirts on 16 in general, and the tight kits won’t suit all of the classic either. I’m thinking about trying to create some different reshade looks to suit different decades on 16.
