How to create some magic

Hey Guys.

I often spend time looking at other players compilations od goals and sweet moves and find myself thinking, "Why don´t I have replays like that saved on my computer?". The problem is, I score a lot, and it´s not that I don´t enjoy it. It´s just that it always seems to be a scrapper or just an "average" one. And I don´t think i´ts me who is really bad at PES, I´ve played it since the ISS series on PS 1 and I think I got a really good grip of the game. And I have tried many times to change my game, maybe go for a shoot that seems impossible but it just doesnt work out.

So heres my question. What do you do to get that wonder goal? Is it just impulse or do you have it all figured out from the beggining? Or do you play matches and don´t give a shit about the result, to make awesome goals and make a compilation?

Tell me, because I want my harddrive full of my own PES candy!

// Sorry if it´s bad English, I´m from Sweden. Guess thats why I cant score great goals!8)

It depends on what sort of goal u r lookin for;
If you mean long shots, it all about the player your using and practice im affraid...I often score great long shots with the ball rolling towards me )headed out from a corner) and hitting it first time. You need to practice to know exactly how much power to put in, as a volley will need less power etc.
If its great team goals u r looking for, tamper with ur teams tactics and movement settings and just get to kno which players make space and try to use more advanced moves.
Lastly i would say its important to use a good team!

gonesurfin: Any kind would do. Dont ever seem to get the time for longshots really as the AI has decided to press, press and press everywhere on the pitch. Gonna try and mess with the tactics a little bit, thanks. But unfortunately all the team goals sucks in the replays because all the nice build up never gets recorded due to lack of recording time... A shame really. I play with Arsenal most of the time, so I would say my passing is my strong side =)

marsmaniac: I do. Almost as I`m looking more on the radar then on the pitch actually! But once again, the pressing AI never give me time. Really bugs me that all their players press and press no matter what team you play against.

when i play 2player on ps2 i find that i score more "screamers" from my midfield players, somtimes strikers... as suggested above, the ball being cleared out from a corner, or just an intercepted slide tackle, knocking the ball out to an advancing midfielder that can smack the little sphere seems to bring the biggest leaps from seats :D...for the more classy slinky runs from the half way line, this my friend takes practice, and cannot be really fully learned as trying to do it against the cpu is not as forfilling as doing it online or against a friend.....using arsenal...i have seen some absolute peach's scored using Mr Henry

sephiroth666: Agree totally. Actually when you say it I think ive scored most of my good goals against a friend. And yes, Henry got big potential for that wonder goal! So i guess its training time for me then! =)

Moving to Sweden? And why would anyone wanna do that? =) Where do you live now?

If you feel that you never get enough time on the ball for long shots, i would suggest a slower build up if the cpu always press...Dont force the issue, wait for space to open up!
I would say that Arsenal dont really have a long range specialist, so that might hinder. So far is pes6, id say rooney is my favoutite long shooter.
Lastly i erge you to try first time shots, before the cpu has time to get on u!

living in cumbria in th uk atm but girlfriend is going to have a baby :D:D so moving back to lulea, as thats where she is from :D

gonesurfin: Maybe your right there. Henry and Rosicky should be able to get smash one in!

sephiroth666: Luleå? Oh my god. Hope you bring your jacket, the first snow has fallen there already! =)

And to everyone. Feel free to show your greatest goals and explain how you did it! If it was planned or just impulse!

I think the best way to create great goals is to "think football". Sounds simple, but I think many gamers think "arcade" in stead. Here's asilly but effective suggestion: try and commentate yourself. This will automatically make you think why, who and what. And if you play soccer so it looks real - then the goals look cool as well. My second advice: Don't dash. It ruins all the beauty. Good goals don't have to be fast. In stead you go (yup, you say it out loud): "Lehmann, rolls it to eboué. Eboué stops the ball, looks up, he has several options. Under pressure, rolls it back to Lehmann. Back to Eboué. Stops the ball, rolls it ahead and passes precisely to (insert name of left back here)who controls the ball with a tiny lob to himself. He looks up and sees (on the radar) that Henry is making a run towards the left flank. With a nifty high through pass you find him on the flank. Henry stops and waits for incoming runs in the area. 2 defenders chase him. Cooly he makes the matthews feint, rolls the ball ahead, and with a perfect medium trajectory cross to the near post he finds the head of Adebayor, who unselfishly heads the ball on to the far post a little behind Rosicky, who in an amazingly cool fashion scissorkicks it in the corner. You cheer.

Try it - it's loads of fun. :P

kongbuur: Haha! Thats a really great tip! =) I always try to play like real soccer matches, hate the arcade style really! Think im gonna try that commentating -maybe not out loud because then my family would question my mental status. Is that what you do yourself?

Lol, to be honest: no, I never triede it. But you get the idea.

In stead of thinking: "Okay... So... I'm controlling the red and white pixel-thingies, run is on :r1: , so that one must be pressed in at all times. we cannot have slow. Slow is bad. Now, Shoot is on :square: so I press that whenever I can. When the opponent has the ball, he must die - preferably TEKKEN-style - all over the pitch. So I run and I shoot and then I run, chase and jump-tackle. And I win. So what else do I need to know? Cool game, btw"

Sad. But even worse is that it still works. I allways lose to psycho-pressing -all-over-the-pitch-players with 1 or 2 boring standard goals well studyed. But I usually lose with grace :)

kongbuur: Agree totally. And Im very dissapointed of the playing styles of the most users online (The few times you actually can play online , aaarrrghh!). Everyone just run, press and tackle all over. And as you say, it usually pays off and its not fair. And they almost everytime score these shit goals, run on the flank push every player you have in the box and pass in to your striker, turn and shot. A disgrace to watch and the sad is theres nothing to do about it... You definitevly get more out of PES to try and think like real football.

LMAO! :lmao:
Well said still, +1.
I almost always loose to psycho-pressing murder machines, but when I get my opening and put one in TV-style... It's like a smack on their faces. Love the stare of disbelief on my fellow player's face.

"You might be winning 4:1, Chelsea vs. Celtic, but that move I just made is what's called chic", is what the goal tells him \\:o/

Lol, nice to know I have soul mates out there.

Another funny thing is when it finally does happen and I win 1-0, they point to the match stats and go "Lool, you had 2 shots on goal, I had 14 - lucky bastard, how is that possible?" - well, because it's quality vs quantity, maaaan 8)

Ive been playing this game since ISS to, and i seem to score *team* goals that end with a shot inside the 18 yrd box, a m8 of mine can spank em in from anywhere on the flippin pitch =(

i like when i play someone who pressures :R1: + :x: + :square: all the time... it's so easy to fool him, passing the ball patiently, and you see his face thinking: "why i can't get the ball, i'm marking with two players!!! aarhg!!"
