Hmm, a bit suss if you ask me. If you check out the review BOADC posted, they do a 'stress' test with the Nano, to see how strong it is. And from the looks of it, its bloody strong! Hell, they even run over it with a car and it still works!

"My Nano broke on day four. The screen that is. It shattered. It was in my pocket as I was walking and I sat down. No, I didn't sit on it, it was just in my pocket just as all iPod's before it have done," he said.

Haha, yeah right mate. You just sat down and it magically 'broke'

Apple admits to iPod Nano faults

Electronics firm Apple has admitted there have been problems with its new iPod Nano music player, after a string of complaints about damaged screens.

The smaller version of the popular iPod was hailed as a design breakthrough when it was unveiled a few weeks ago, with the cheapest model costing £140.

Apple says a manufacturing problem has left screens on one batch vulnerable to cracks and is offering replacements.

It says the problem affects fewer than a tenth of 1% of all Nanos shipped.

Well thats all good then. If it breaks, I just get a replacement!

Re: iPod nano and iTunes Phone announced

Apple have planned another event on the 12th of this month. I don't think anyone expected this as Apple have already had one on the 5th to release the nano (usually these events are used to showcase a new product).

All I'm saying is that if you are planning to buy an iPod 20GB or 60GB within the next few days, then I may recommend waiting. Or get a refund if you recently purchased one. As you might get disappointed giving your hard earned dosh for an outdated product...

Rumour has it that a iPod Video Edition is in production with a bigger screen and a new design all together.

However, it could be a new Mac is to be released. Or even both? :eh:

I guess we'll find out in a couple of hours. BTW, the Apple store is being so updated - a definite sign that new update is coming out!

Re: iPod nano and iTunes Phone announced

If only they gave the Nano a sports case like the Shuffle, then maybe it would worth getting, but why anyone would want a 1Gb Nano is beyond me, 150 bucks for something with only a Gb of memory. Tis pointless really, save up and get a 4Gb one. For a 100 dollars more you get something the same size but with 4 times as much memory.

Re: iPod nano and iTunes Phone announced

The Nano and Shuffle get a redesign each and iTunes 7 is coming out, Apple to take over the world!!!! Its all here.

That 30GB iPod 5.5G looks great! £189 is a great price, but USA is $249 which equals about £130 so we are getting bumped, I was thinking of family sending it over for me.

Anyway, the Shuffle WOW! That is tiny, a bit risky buying ecause you might lose it LOL!

I love the new shuffle, it looks the dogs, and at 55 quid in the UK, its on the list I reckon. The new Nano could well be worth a look too, though an 8GB, hmmmm sweet.

I want a shuffle!!
Perv.

My 40gb 4th gen iPod is dying, I was going to move away from Apple but with the gapless shenanigans and the Rockbox improvements I ordered a new 80gb.

I'm thinking about getting a 80gb one but I'm not sure how long it'll be before its outdated by a new version.

How often do Apple release updates?

I think a more video orientated probably touch screen pod will be early next year. That stuff doesn't really interest me, though, and, with £20 off, £235 is pretty good for capacity that should last me a few years.

There's never a good time to buy an ipod if you're concerned about new ones coming out.
