Pro Evolution Soccer kicks off!
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH confirms October 27th launch date for the eagerly-awaited PES6 in Europe
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has confirmed that it will launch the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD versions of its highly anticipated Pro Evolution Soccer 6 on October 27th, with the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) and Nintendo DS versions to follow shortly after.

The Konami football game enters its sixth incarnation with an unrivalled reputation for realistic and gripping gameplay. Key improvements to Pro Evolution Soccer 6 include new player AI with team mates running into space more intelligently, while the physical nature of the sport has also been enhanced with new turns and defensive blocks to learn, alongside closing down unmarked opponents.

The shooting system has also been refined, and players will be able to attempt more snap shots than in previous versions, while volleys and half-volleys have been reworked. It is also now possible to retain control of the ball after performing a sliding tackle, while all-new feints and backwards dribbling are now possible thanks to the improved dribbling controls. Coupled with the series’ famed realism, the result is a more flowing and fluid game with all the movement and pace of the real thing.

Konami’s has also added a raft of new licensed sides to Pro Evolution Soccer 6, and all versions will include the fully-licensed kits and squads for the Czech, French, Australian, English, Italian, Argentinian, Spanish and Swedish national sides. Similarly, the French Ligue 1 Orange has been added to the game, alongside key European sides such as Sporting Lisbon, Benfica, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Manchester United.

Another key addition to the October launch, is Pro Evolution Soccer 6’s first appearance for a Next Generation format. Released alongside the established PlayStation 2 version, the Xbox 360 game features massively improved visuals and audio effects, while the player AI is also noticeably improved as Producer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka and his team flex their skills using the 360 system’s advanced capabilities.

Unfortunately, these enhancements to the gameplay and game engine have meant that online play will not be available in Konami's latest incarnation of the popular franchise due to, among other things, memory restrictions in most of the major consoles.

“This is the date all football fans have been waiting for,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing and PR Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “October 27th will see established Pro Evolution Soccer fans looking to get their hands on the latest version, while we are delighted to be bringing the first Next Generation version to Xbox 360 users, and taking the many delights of Pro Evolution Soccer to an all-new audience. The season truly starts here – and, despite the omission of any online features due to the team's concentration on key improvements to the game engine and fluidity of the title, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will once again top the table of the football genre.”

i think the online play not being included is just for xbox 360 because thats where its talking about the enhancements.

Umm, and whrre was that confirmed?

I highly doubt PS2 players can play PC players online

That's what I thought, if they did that it would cost more if they linked all the platforms together and you would get a bigger bill.

Q: I saw a lot of screenshots of the online mode for the PS2 version and it looks like there are a lot of improvements and new options for the online gameplay. Can you give us the details of the various upgrades to the online mode?

Seabass: I can’t give you all, but I can give you the main topics of the new online mode. We expanded the multiplay much more so if you have four consoles and two players on each console there’s a maximum of eight players for online. Also we decided to have the PC players and the PS2 players play for the first time together online. Those are the two biggest things that we implemented in PES 6.

Q: There were screenshots that we saw for the PS2 version that said things like “group” so can you organize things like tournaments for your friends online now?

Seabass: Sorry we can’t really say it officially but if you saw it in a screenshot you can kind of guess what’s going to be in there. We can’t confirm yet, and honestly we don’t know if its going to work out. We might pull it out, but we are trying to get a lot of stuff in there. As I said, the emphasis is on the PC and PS2 working together, and the 8-player multiplayer, and we don’t want to sacrifice any of that so if there too much more lag or server trouble we might pull some out. That’s why we can’t really confirm at this time

Q: Is the Xbox 360’s online component exactly the same as far as the options?

Seabass: 360 is on the next gen, meaning we went back to the drawing board because the next-gen and the old-gen can’t really match when you play online, therefore 360 we regret to say one vs. one. But we had a different goal to maximize the one vs. one. on the next-gen 360 version this year for intense one-on-one play.

For the PS2 and PC version you might have found from time to time that there were some awkward moves and some jumping movement. We won’t do this on the 360 because we concentrated on this tightness for intensive gameplay. For the 360 our main goal was to let the users play online as if there was a stand alone and you were playing with your friends right next to you.

online was there @ GC, I hope they didn't screw somethin. To be honest I'm pretty sure PS2/PC will get online mode ( due to the official cover ith online tag) , dunno if they did pull out online for x360

LOL : Tasse, tasse in french mean coffee cup, if you want to talk about a cup
you use the french coupe and not tasse, :D

French Version that has been leaked has no network option, there are now 9 options instead of 10.

Go figure :(
