The spiratual successer to the greatest football game ever made..
I have already done the Kickstarter, not sure how good it will end up being, but considering I still play Sensible World of Soccer today I am hoping it doesn't suck.

Game Information:
An instantly playable football game for football fans all over the world, designed and directed by Jon Hare, the man behind Sensible World of Soccer, the best-selling football game of the 1990s.

Sociable Soccer will be crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as the very finest Sensible Software titles, to deliver a peerless gameplay experience across all platforms.

Backed!

It's the least I can do for the hours (and hours) of entertainment Sensi gave to me, and practically everyone I knew growing up.

Can't say I'm that interested TBH, but Codemasters keeping hold of decent IPs and turning them to shit is something I'm obviously familiar with and have strong feelings about...

The irony of this video starts at 2:08 when the guy is asked "what have you been working on today" .. of which I cannot decipher anything he says ... and the next Q&A is with the sound guy :APPLAUD: Bit of brit comedy I suppose.

Cant say this video (comedy video to ask for money?) nor the game to come would be anything I would dig in my pockets for, "nostalgia bate" me thinks. Happy for him to get what he needs of course, there is room for all manner of options and game types, but £300,000 .. guess that's more server aspect and MP right?

One week in now and only at £27,500, getting some serious doubts this is not going to be funded.

I also get the feeling Jon Hare might be a member of evo-web after stealing Chris' comment:

Bizarre!

I doubt he's registered on here (maybe someone else on the Sociable Soccer team is), but if he is, Jon - you were an absolute hero of mine growing up and I hope you get this game funded.

I wonder if he plays PES and/or FIFA - I always imagined (for literally no reason at all) that he got tired of the games industry as a whole and found them sterile. I'd love to find out he was a member here and read through his opinions...

Nearly half way through the Kickstarter and only raised £32k, this has got no chance at all of getting enough funding.

It is a shame really but putting that really god awful gameplay video on the site for the kickstarter has probably been it's downfall.

Yeah, I think you may be right. I'd still pay for any Jon Hare football game (just because I trust the guy to make a great experience), but, the gameplay snippets just look like Sensi Soccer made in Unity, at 100mph (which Sensi always was, but it's a bit madcap for 2015).

I hope they don't abandon it, though. Could they make a follow-up Kickstarter asking for much less?

That seems to confirm it's a 3D Sensi rather than a new game.

Way too fast for me (like all modern football games it seems).

Still hope it gets made though, I'm sure it's a lot of fun.

Thats the problem, I think he should use other funding ways and just release on tablets/phones for that type of graphic level and game-play.

Trying to use the major platforms to release and get a kickstarter in this day and age with no new graphics to compete, its the wrong way to go.

IM sure he would make a killing on hand held devices and tablets.

Disappointed it failed, but it is good it is still in development.

He should concentrate on the single player career mode experience and make sure the game is fully moddable so we can add real kits and player names.

Although I may play the game online, I would love a modern Sensi with the amazing career mode the game had.

That would be the major appeal for me too, but he's already ruled out a transfer market etc. being in the game (which is a killer for me).

I also hope that there's some kind of roster-sharing system in the game for those of us who are sad enough to want all the real player names without all of us having to sit and edit them all in one-by-one...

Ah balls.

That looks terrible.

If I knew they were just going to remake a game I've already played for half my life (but without the career mode), I wouldn't have been interested...

Hey guys!

Some of you might be aware and some may not. But I've been appointed CM/Social Media Manager for Sociable Soccer. Flew over to Finland to finish the deal mid February and have been working to get us up and running on all fronts lately.

Here's the latest video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbZpZr2vrhs

Ask your questions and I'll try to answer them as well as possible. Thanks!

I loved the original Sensible Soccer series, but the one in 2006 was awful. I suppose because of the graphics at the time I never thought of SS as being cartoony, it was just the style of 2d games then. The purposeful big heads shit just looked stupid to me. But I always use a custom view on Pro Evo and Fifa that zooms out as up as far as I can go for the sensible soccery look..
