Everywhere says this is a PS3 exclusive where did you get X360 from?

Re: L.A. Noire - Rockstar Game (PS3)

We'll keep it for just the PS3 for now, until there is anymore announcements regarding any other platform.

It's only annonced for PS3 at the moment (soon on 360 and Wii)
Is that worying, do you think the developers might hold back a bit to allow an easier transition to Wii? Mmm...

Re: L.A. Noire - Rockstar Game (PS3)

Think RS will be happy to get GTA finished and out the door, then go back to other things.

Re: L.A. Noire - Rockstar Game (PS3)

Rockstar aren't making the game Team Bondi is, Rockstar are publishing the game. The definately wont be out this year.

Anyone get US Game Informer? Wonder if there is more information as the Informer website only says:

Rockstar Games is known for its ambitious projects, and L.A. Noire proves that the company’s reputation is safe. While the rumblings about the game have been heard for years, our world exclusive cover story is the only place you’ll be able to get concrete information on the gritty crime epic. Over the course of our 10-page feature we look at the game’s astonishing reconstruction of 1947 Los Angeles and learn how the team took on such a massive undertaking. We also talk to the team to see L.A. Noire’s groundbreaking facial-animation system in action, and learn how it might change the way we look at games from now on.

And IGN says:

Besides detailing the long development cycle behind L.A. Noire--which was first announced in 2005--the magazine lists it as arriving this September. It also reveals that the formerly PlayStation 3 exclusive is now also in development for the Xbox 360 but will remain a single-player-only experience. Though initially announced as a Sony-published project, the game was listed as coming to "next-generation consoles" when Rockstar took it over in 2006.

The debut effort from Australia-based Team Bondi, L.A. Noire takes place in 1940s Los Angeles, the setting for many detective films and novels, such as the brutal crime fiction of James Ellroy. Like the author's acclaimed novels The Black Dahlia and L.A. Confidential, it will have players entangled in a violent web of vice, corruption, and crime in the titular metropolis's underworld. Players will be tasked with solving a series of murders in what Rockstar describes as an "open-ended challenge," with atmosphere provided courtesy of a jazz soundtrack.

Rockstar cofounder and creative director Sam Houser is executive-producing L.A. Noire, with Team Bondi founder Brendan McNamara (writer and director of The Getaway) serving as director of development.

Re: L.A. Noire - Rockstar Game (PS3 & 360)

I just realized this game was announced back in 2006. Took them 4 years for this?

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Well it all depends on what it does and how well it does it, hardest part of such a long development cycle is to ensure it looks as good as the current visual standard of other games in its genre, Saboteur was a fun game but technically not on a par with GTA4/Red Dead Redemption and such so LA Noire certainly has a chance, as a huge fan of Ellroy I'm hopeful :)

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Sounds quite interesting, let's see if they don't dumb down gameplay at the end.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Thanks for sharing, sounds great but I'll be shocked if they manage to pull it off, I expect large aspects of it to be cut for "creative" or "refined narrative" reasons or whatever bullshit PR speak they come up with for "we bit off more than we could chew and now we have to get it on shelves".

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Been waiting a lifetime for a game to build on the old Police Quest series in as much as you have crimes to solve/stop along with a core story to follow, love Police Quest 1 and 2 where you have to drive around issuing tickets to drivers and such for breaking the law whilst observing correct police procedure :)

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Police Quest was amazing back in the day! :)

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3 & 360)

Police Quest was one of my favorites from Sierra. It had action, puzzles and freedom of play. How come we've had to wait almost 20 years for a game to top it?
