Just heard on Radio 1, the game is too violent and because some nutter blamed the first one for his own murderous attitude!

Now that is lame, anyone know where we'll be able to pick up a copy?

I've pre-ordered pf Play but not sure if it'll still come, has anyone had previous experience of this with DVD's or other games??

Lame as fuck!!

It is ridiculous but then I've always thought Manhunt was poo anyway. ;)

The last time this happened (Carmageddon in 97) the game was already available before the ban was enforced, so the only way to get the game was to buy it before then or via a shop that would sell you it behind the counter (i.e. not a high-street game shop). Online games shops were/are not allowed to send it out, so your order will be cancelled once Play receive official confirmation and your card will be refunded, unless Rockstar appeal or censor half of the content, in which case the release date will be set to "TBC" and you'll have to wait for Rockstar to comment on the matter.

If Rockstar don't appeal or refuse to censor the content then you will probably have to get an import, as even the shops that will sell behind the counter won't be getting shipments of it now.

Well thats just crap! Just because I beat people up on GTA and steal cars does that instantly mean I will go outside and do it in real life? Nope.

My house, my car, my t.v, my wife yes i nicked them all after playing these types of games. I got banned from driving this morning for doing 90 through the park, Damn that Dirt game.

I can see why they've done it and obviously part of me agrees. But another part of me wonders why the hell some smarmy men in suits decided that I, as a full grown adult can not decide by myself whether or not I want to play the game.

Quick question though and this may sound stupid, but if you were to import the game and play it, can you get prosecuted for doing so if caught?

The ruling is that it won't be given a UK classification for selling in UK shops, it's not actually to do with playing the game. So selling it is illegal, buying an import and playing it is nothing to do with that - therefore, you wouldn't be prosecuted for it.

Pathetic.......and i thought the US was bad.

Played the first one and got bored a couple of levels into it. So not that bothered about the actual game, more the principle of it. Although im sure they wont ban it over here in NL.

Never played it, never even heard of it, but if it's being banned on the basis of it resulting in people adopting aggressive behaviour, then given the amount of rage it engenders in people, PES6 should be also.

Great PR for the game though. The game is based on shock value, and now it has a reputation for being a banned game too, i reckon more than a fair few copies will get imported by people. Not just people who want the game to play either, but people who are getting it for the "coolness" of having a banned game too.

Does that include Jersey? That's where play is based.

Has anyone ever got anything from play deemed illegal in the UK??

Jersey isn't technically part of the UK but it's still governed by the BBFC, I'm sure. Jersey wouldn't have a seperate classification system.

I think the descision is a utter JOKE!!!!

The mother of the victim who "BLAMED" the first game had said that her son played it all the time and if she thought it would lead to that then she would have stopped him..........

What a thick fuckin women. The game is certified 18 meaning he should never have played it first time...GEEZ!

This descision simply means us Brits are not capable of controlling our primeval rage that burns inside us and we must now simply remain placid peace loving creatures.

Fuck that i am going to get this bastard on import and stampede the house of commons Chainsawed and knifed to the max playing out a "fantasy" manhunt slaughtering officialdom:roll:

I've never had any intention of playing Manhunt 2, but it's ridculous that someone could tell me I can't even when I'm over the age 18.

Censorship is beyond pointless when you consider the amount of horrific content avaliable to anyone of any age on the internet.

fucking disgrace, i'm 27 i should be able to decide what i want to play and what i want to pass on playing!

played the first one and really enjoyed it, it felt like a more sinister version of the Arnie film "running man".

was gonna end up buying a wii for this just so i could play the best version of it, probably woulda bough scarface too but not anymore.

my understanding is it's been banned in the uk, the us and in ireland.

is there an english speaking country that will release it? australia maybe? they're the same region dvds as us aren't they so it should work? if there is i'll import it on principle!

If the UK isn't allowing it there's no chance in hell that Australia will.

ok so australia is out of the question then, what about new zealand? maybe some european countries will have an english option? i know i'm kinda clutching at straws here but i'm just hoping i don't have to play a toned down version because some people apparently can't seperate reallity and computer games

Good to see the dutch actualyl take a logical decision by ruling that "adults can make up their own mind":

Rockstar's controversial Manhunt 2 has been given the go ahead for release in Holland.

The Dutch Ministry refused to get in its way, stating to Parliament that would break the regional law which considers adults capable of making their own decisions.

It is still illegal for youngsters under 16 to buy it, though - they have to rely on responsible parenting and advice from the games industry until they reach adulthood.

The discussion ended with Justice Minister Hirsch Ballin calling for a unified EU ratings system, and revealing that the ministry was looking into new laws to protect younger audiences.

It follows news that Manhunt 2 had been given the thumbs-up in the US, awarded a Mature rating thanks to a re-submitted version of the game by Rockstar.

Manhunt 2 was effectively banned here after the BBFC ruled it unfit for sale. Rockstar has since pleaded its case, but the outcome remained the same.

It's been leaked online now - the uncut beta version that was played and deemed unfit for release.

No idea how bad it was or is though but we should start hearing soon from those that download it and youtube uploads

i agree with tiktiktik and the Dutch government...
All in all too much honour for what seems to me to be an utter dull game...

Whether it was worth banning, is not for me to say. But if I had a say i'd never ban it. yes it's gory, bloody and the general idea of the game is to torcher people anyway you can. But it's not gonna make you an insane person or make you faint due to extrme gore. It's definitely the worst game i've played in that respect, but not a whole lot more than the first Manhunt. The graphics are absolutely shocking maybe cos it's a PS2 beta, but realy poor. taking off the camera noise helps, i don't like that feature, makes the game look like a snuff movie,
There's a scene taking straight out of the movie Hostill, where people are tied up and are being torchered.
Also a very funny scene with a porno, but i'm sure you'll all see that eventually.
I don't really know what to say without giving away spoilers.
In terms of gameplay, not much different, get a weapon and execute hunters(executions just as gruesom and gory if not a little bit more), although now instead of picking up a packet or a shard of glass thats lying around, you use level executions(best new feature) to kill the initial hunter and pick up his weapon. But a top, top game exactly like the original with added weapons and new features which suites me perfect, cos I loved it.

Did you manage to get past domestic Disturbance at all?

It's pretty late on in the game so you might not have - but the games locking up for me at that point when i walk in a certain area - the arse is i need to pass through that area to reach the exit :(

you can use swap magic and then you just need a way to trick your ps2 that the lid is closed. You get some tools with swap magic that do this for you.

One goes at the back of the ps2 in the hole (or where a silver piece of metal blocks the hole on new models) one goes to the right side of the lazer forcing the piece of platic with a white stick on to stay to the right.

and finally one goes on the hole inside the ps2 just above the reset/open lid buttons

No chips needed.
