Righto people let me start by telling you my current set up.

I currently have Films and TV Shows stored on an external HDD which is plugged into my Windows PC. I then use a programme called Mezzmo to stream these files to my TVs in my house.

Now the fun part. Im moving out this year and Im not taking my PC or HDD. I will be taking my Macbook Pro. Ill be looking to buy another HD which will work with my Macbook.

How do I go about getting them files off my Current HDD onto my new one I'm going to purchase? I read somewhere that you can't just plug HDDs into a windows and Mac. Im not very clued up on this.

Once thats done is there anything better than Mezzmo to stream. Im looking for something more appealing to look at when scrolling through the films. (Cover art, description etc)

Thanks guysssss :D

If it is an external drive with just data then it should be picked up by the mac

Look into plex media server

Recently set one up via a nas, cheap and easy to implement

Oh thats good news, Ill have a play around tonight. Cheers

I might need more explanation on this nas business
