Pro Evolution Soccer 5 ‘Nets online modes!

Konami of Europe’s best-selling football title to feature full online compatibility across all formats

Konami of Europe has confirmed that all versions of the European versions of its eagerly-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will feature full online play.

Due for release in October, online play has been high on the agenda of the series' many fans and Producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka has delivered in the game's newest incarnation. Already regarded as the definitive footballing simulation, the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will all offer full online play for up to four players simultaneously, while the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) game, which will be released shortly after, will feature wireless connectivity for multi-player action.
The PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD versions will allow matches against either one or two-players, and will also facilitate leagues between friends from all over the world. "We are delighted that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is heading online," commented Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of Product Management for Konami of Europe. "Sports games are ideal online fare, and we have worked hard to ensure that the skill and playability of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 have not been compromised in its multi-player online modes."

Partially.

But I know a lot of people who have supreme connection speeds, who still lag badly when hosting. It's just a very bad netcode Konami has implemented. I hope they have hired specialists this time, they owe us.

all across the uk upload never goes above 440/444 kb some buisness connnections get a meg upload the standard is 282/284 kb for 1 meg and 2 meg
4mb get340/382/440 kb upload

its because bt dont want cable companies to do better than the old fashion copper wire phone lines with adsl who have a limit on speeds
while cable has massive potential for insane 20/ 40 mb speeds with 10/ 20 mb upstream

bt lag behind and with that so does the uk with its broadband for all companies
they have a monopoly on the shit

PES5 is definitely much better than PES4 online, if the PS2 online code is anything to go by ;)

There was hardly any lag noticeable at all in the few weeks I played it and there were many implementations by konami to prevent lag like not being able to select stadium, eaching player hosting different halves etc.

this be the shit , we were one of the first to get it although im having temprametnal download speeds

Can this game be played via XBconnect or XLink Kai? I don't have Live subscription and wouldn't want to get one just for PES5.

how you can play online ?
and play xboxlive?

Anyone know if PES5 will support Live Aware this time? It was always annoying that you couldn't just play some single player games until your Friends come online, waiting in Xbox Live menus for hours just incase someone comes on is rediculous.
