Well a lot has been said about Peter Crouch, but his international goal record is very good. Can he take this into the Premiership or is it never going to happen. How many goals can he score in the Premiership this year??
 
I'm not sure if a player like Crouch has to be judged by the amount of goals he scores.
Crouch is there to run riot in the box and thus enabling other players to score...every goal he scores on top of that is a bonus..
 
I understand that Gerd, but he is a striker. He should still be expected to score a certain amount of goals. I do agree that one of his strongest points is to bring other players around him into the game with his little flicks and lay offs etc.
 
He'll get about 8. Probably important one's though, such is in keeping with this most unlikely of footballing talents.

Think hell get about 15 in all competitions. 9 in the premiership maybe.

One reason, is that he isnt the best finisher in the world. But also the fact that we have 3 very good frontmen that will get a sizeable share of goals IMO.

Crouch has really impressed me since he came. His positional sense is getting better by the day. With Pennant, Gonzales, Gerrad whipping in crosses, I could see him getting some very easy headers at the back post, or even just tapins.

Of course he offers so much more than goals. He's got skills!! He's got one of the best first touches and technique in the England team.
 
Crouch is the most ridiculous top flight professional player I've seen for ages. Beats me how the hell such an alien can play in the PL, yet alone at Liverpool.

I understand you have it in for him, though I dont get why in your new anti-Crouch sig you say you used him in a game if he is that bad. I just cant figure that one out??

what are you basing this on. Looks or footballing abillity?

If its the former. Then you are a fool. Football isn't a porn set. If you go around labelling people for that reason, then you aren't very bright.

If its the latter. Well, his football does the talking. The more you mock him, the more he will prove you wrong. An awesome record for England, and was pivotal in Liverpools impressive last season. Winning the FA Cup in his first season and helping Liverpool improve their league position by 2. His work ethic is phenominal, his touch is sublime, his teamwork and link up play is one of the best in the premiership, and he's now actually starting to pose a threat in the box, attacking high and low balls, whilst also drawing attention and letting other players run into space.

If you think thats ridiculous, you have the wrong impressions of what good football is. Its not all stepovers and diving.

It doesn't take much to get an 8.0 rating in Pro Evo. I could do it with Carsten Jancker. An assist and a goal could easily get you that. Ooh hang on, he did that all season for Liverpool.

i am a liverpool fan and i really hope he spends most of his time on the bench. Bellamy/Kuyt a much better partnership!

even if crouch played most games like last season he won't get more than 10 league goals!!

Of course it's not based on looks, looks only make it even more painful to watch him.

Crouch is phisically inaptive to play quality soccer. There are tall guys with quality soccer on his feet, Crouch is a joke. The only thing he can do (but not as efficient as for example the former monster Jardel would with 2 m high) is heading ocasionaly. What's that?

I' ve seen Crouch play many times and it's a pain to see. I don't mean Crouch shouldn't play professional soccer, I'm just shocked he is able to do that not only in the premier but in a club like liverpool and even.. in the national team!

He lacks, ability, ball control, he doesn't have any special shooting ability.. all he has is... 2 meters of bones and a easely identifiable lack of limbs coordination which shows on his soccer.

Beats me how Liverpool give a chance to a joke like Crouch and dismisses a guy like Baros for example.

my signature only shows that last night I was playing a friendly with liverpool (to try the team) and I beat Chelsy with 2 goals from Crouch which was very funny specially the rating... of course Crouch is better in PES than in realife, that's not the point.

I'm not claiming hes a star, world class whatever. He's just much better than a 'ridiculous' proffesional football player.

He has weaknesses, but ball control isn't one of them.

Liverpool dumped Baros because he wasn't a team player. Simple as that. I used to like him, he ran his socks off, had pace, strength and could go past people. He never looked up and couldn't link up with the team. He also was arrogant and demanded constant first team action.

Despite Crouch being not that strong. I've hardly see him being outdone by defenders in holding up the ball. Even when they do its usually a foul. Freekick on the edge of the box are always handy.

In my opinion Crouch is the perfect example of how wrong english soccer can go sometimes, in terms of decisions of who gets a chance or not.

To make it worse he is not also a nice guy. What he did on that T&Tobago defender to score his goal was one of the cowardest things I saw in a WC, although not that serious is a girlie's move and guy 20ft tall shouldn't need that to head it in.

I never said Zidane's actions wasn't a dirty move, as I also didn't say Materazzi wasn't a bastard, as I also didn't say Crouch action was worse than Boulharouz action.

I just said that Crouch pulling a defender's hair to score a goal is one of the biggest coward moves I've seen in a WC, because it meant a goal and a goal decides games. Obviously it's even more ridiculous coming from a player that plays in the national team of the country that insists to overrate cheating as a decisive means to win a game.

Dont give me the crap that as it meant a goal, actions may not produce a goal and be more powerfull, ask Zidane or Materazzi one way on another you could say it was worth a World Cup.
 
People tug and tussle in the box all day long. Its a goal, it stood, just as illegitimate goals have been scored against England on numerous occasions.

Crouch was voted the MOTM against Haifa in a team including people like Alonso, Finnan, Sissoko, Garcia etc. But yeh, I guess hes ridiculous.

Fowler, without all his injuries, would of been the greatest English striker of modern times IMO. Kuyt has been a late developer, and scored 70 in 100 at Feyenoord. But he's crap too, he must be, he had 2 mediocre games at the world cup. Ronaldinho had 5!

Bellamy has done jack all his career so far (apart from a few goals in CL), but he still has massive potential.
 
Crouch his big and that is an advantage. But I just fell that Liverpool could get better. But hell, if liverpool want to play long ball like the old days, he's perfect.

Mauras I would rather have teh Jardel of Beira-Mar than Crouch. Not even talking about the SUPER MARIO of the Porto days.

there is not special dislike for Peter Crouch from me. I dislike him like I dislike any overrated player with no special abilities. The exceptions is when they are nice hard working players that play clean. Crouch is not only a stone feet caracter as he is also not a nice chap (in the WC he seemed to aparently think that "fuck off" was some sort of international greeting to use in any game against oposition).
