The Next James Bond?

With the Bond producers having booted out Pierce Brosnan they are now looking for a new guy to play Bond.

Who would you like to see as the new Bond or do you think they should now leave the series as it is and call it a day?

Lots of names have been linked with the latest being Clive Owen. I think he has the right look for Bond and if they can get him they should go for it.

Some other names that were mentioned in passing including Colin Farrell, Dougray Scott, Hugh Jackman and Colin Salmon. Any others you want to throw in?
 
Ewan McGregor is also in the mix.

Brosnan was a great Bond, he will be hard to replace. They need to get decent script writers before they commit to making the next Bond, Die Another Day was total pish.
 
Sean Connery wil always be my favourite :).

I heard that Robbie Williams was in the running as well!!! I think Robbie would be a good bond actually, if he took it seriously enough.
 
Brosnam was one of the best Bonds ever, right next to Sean Connery. The bad is that that scripts on P Brosnan bonds were awfull. Tommorow Never Dies was an an example of bad scripting.

Clive Owen fits the profile, but Russell Crowe is a much better actor.

I go for Russel Crowe and good scripting (above all)
 
Clive Owen is the best of that lot by far, Bond has definatly been lacking something in recent years, Goldeneye was good but the gradually got shite after that.

Brosnan is the second best Bond for me.

Mr Connery being number 1.

Clive Owen could do a job as Bond, but Brosnan was I think better than Connery in many ways. Ewan McGregor, come on, FFS the man cant act his way out of a wet paper bag anymore, his peak was being Renton, after that he became as wooden as the Ark
 
i think in time brosnan will be looked at as being the best its going to be a tough act to follow but id go with owen!

I'm not a James Bond fan, but how good would it be to have Brick Top as Bond?

That’s right. Two very different James Bonds are being considered at the moment. Expect the choice to come from this group of guys. It’s really down to Amy Pascal’s final choice, and as I understand it, she’s in the midst of making her mind up right now. Whoever gets picked starts work soon with Martin Campbell on CASINO ROYALE.

Does she want to go with Julian McMahon, star of TV’s NIP/TUCK and this summer’s FANTASTIC FOUR, who seems like a more movie star glamorous choice, or with Daniel Craig, star of LAYER CAKE and ROAD TO PERDITION, who seems like a hard-ass take-no-shit kind of Bond?

Either way, I think I like those choices. They show more imagination than the knee-jerk “Clive Owen” contingent, and I think there’s the potential for either of these two guys to bring something new to the series, a must if it’s going to remain relevant.

I would never had seen Julian McMahon as Bond!! Daniel Craig on the other hand would be a good choice, that guy looks like he could do some damage

I think they should call it a day. Brosnan was great but let down by pants scripts. Couldn't give a nats ch*ff who is the new Bond.
 
Its gonna be Christian Bale... bloke from American Psycho and Equilibrium and the new Batman film.
 
I was jsut about to suggest Bale before I scrolled dow the page. He'd be good for it. He's definitely got the acting ability.

Bale was freakily good in his last film "The Machinist" . you get a chance go see it . But as bond , I don't see it happening .

But thats the same with batman , Could Never see anyone doing it compared to keaton . Will have to wait to The summer

Yeah keaton was very good, it should be someone darker than them both. Vego mortison (?) mibees?
