UEFA Champions League 05/06 Thread

really ? if i were u id be hoping for one of

Tirana - Ferencváros
Djurgården - Kaunas

i reckon the might be easier than the winners of
"Young Boys" - Red Star.

There are some tricky games in there for some of the bigger sides, most notably Inter and Rangers will have to be careful in their away games.

Benfica-Anderlecht: pffft.
I don't think we'll see ANderlecht in the CL this year...

me neither... ;)

 LOL.........

btw, have I ever said how I love Russia. Although I think it's quite an easy draw for them (Rangers).

Soundtracker, your avatar reminds me of the fact that Trappatoni is Benfica's coach...well maybe i was too pessimistic...
Trappatoni is a very generous man trowards opposing teams. If his sides are 1-0 up he always replaces his forwards...
Normally Benfica should be stronger than Anderlecht but Trappatoni maybe the decisive factor for Anderlecht...let's hope he doesn't get sacked before the game...

Thanks Prof...
(and to say that my favourite team is FC Brussels, the newly promoted second Brussels teams...it's the reïncarnation of my favourite team RWDM).

Juventus 2-2 Djurgården

What about that for a result eh. 2 away goals for Djurgården. Will they hold it at home do you think? will Juve get through. Could be an upset on the books.

The defence was a fragile and static as ever, the first half was slow and static. We were 2-0 behind at one point !
Good comeback, Ruben Olivera came on for Tacchinardi (Tachi ruined his entire season with last night's game) and proved important. Trez and Emerson(Olivera cross) scored for the 2-2.

The rain(sounds like a lousy excuse but it's true) though prevented good play further:

who will united play?? do you think they can win with all those injuries?!?!

i really hope Juventus get through to the next round... and i hope real madrid dont!!!

Shaktar Donetsk-Club Brugge 3-1 after 85 minutes...tricky return match...no Belgian teams in CL this year i think...(they will be sorely missed by the average football fan....hahahahaha)

38 mins: GOAL Dinamo 1-1 Man Utd
Scholes feeds Giggs who rounds the keeper and slides the ball home from a difficult angle.

Half Time score :

NK Gorika : 0
AS Monaco : 1 (Kallon 9')

Nice first half by the new players of Monaco, Chevanton, Kallon and Maicon (the next Cafu)

Own goal but good play!

As long as its in the net i dont care how it goes in

Shakhtar Donetsk 4 - 1 Club Brugge

Ferencvaros 1 - 0 Sparta Prague

Bayer Leverkusen 5 - 0 Banik Ostrava

Red Star Belgrade 3 - 2 PSV Eindhoven

FC Basel 1 - 1 Inter Milan

Dinamo Bucharest 1 - 2 Manchester United

Nova Gorica 0 - 3 AS Monaco

Rosenborg 2 - 1 Maccabi Haifa

Shelbourne 0 - 0 Deportivo

Wisla Krakow 0 - 2 Real Madrid
---------------------------------------------------

Shelbourne holding Deportivo to a 0-0 draw.

They probably get humped sideways in Spain though.
