Alas, poor Timothy is out on his arse in only the second round.

Tim Henman’s shock defeat on Centre Court today came after he vented his
frustration by turning the air blue.
As fans baked in the 32C heat the normally mild-mannered British number one’s
struggle against Russian Dmitry Tursonov caus a
classic tennis tantrum.
He served up a volley of expletives, berating both the crowd and officials.
The BBC had to apologise after the outbursts were beamed direct into millions
of homes, and Henman himself also said sorry to fans who were offended.
Initially the 30-year-old seemed peeved that the crowd were not getting behind
him, perhaps having noticed several rows of empty seats in the stands.
During the sixth game of the first set he tried to rouse them by fuming:
“Come on, f***, more, make some f***ing noise. It’s f***ing unbelievable.”
BBC Radio Five Live pundit Pat Cash remarked: “the umpire could lip-read,
he’d be getting a warning for that one.”
Another use of the four-letter word was to follow in the second set, causing
the BBC’s John McEnroe to comment: “I don’t know if I just heard what I thought
I heard but that was more McEnroe and (Jimmy) Connors-like.”
The brash American’s “You cannot be serious!” outburst at umpire Ted James
in 1981 is an indelible part of Wimbledon history.
Henman’s rage was not over however.
During the third set his frustration at his poor form became even more
obvious, as he complained about not getting the right drink at the change of
ends.
He shouted to officials: “Tell them to get their heads out of their arses and
get me a diet Coke out here.”
Then when he got the drink but a ball-girl failed to hold an umbrella over him
at the same time, he asked sarcastically: “Is it one or the other, you can get
the Coke but not the umbrella ?”
He also queried a number of decisions by the umpire in the crucial eighth game
of that set.

Henman’s emotions were again at breaking point in the seventh game of the
fourth set, when he complained about a poor line call with a choice phrase.

Both players felt the Cyclops machine was not working correctly and asked for it
to be turned off, but were met with a shrug from umpire Andreas Egli of
Switzerland.

“That’s the reaction I love to see; that fills us with confidence,” Henman
moaned.
In his press conference afterwards a dejected Henman said he was sorry
about his choice of language.
“If I have said some bad words I apologise,” he said. “These things happen
in the spur of the moment when you are out there competing and wanting to get
fired up.
“If I said the wrong word I apologise for that.”
A BBC spokesman said: “The swearing was broadcast live and the BBC would like
to apologise for any offence caused.
“It is one of the dangers of broadcasting a major live sporting event but it
is live coverage the viewers want to see.”
