the lack of a number 10 will kill France...no creativity in the midfield..I would have added samir Nasri in backup for gourcuff or to super sub the midfield...but oh well...

Exactly, it's what says Reynald Denoueix after see the list, and it's a 30 players list so... and after see the Gourcuff season a good spare wheel like Nasri or a bit more defensive like B.Cheyrou can only be good, but... we have Domenech :JAY:

HAHA i guess all the contries hate their managers! Here in Brazil plp are going crazy about Ganso, Ronaldinho and Neymar not getting called up(not me though)
Btw, u thought Benzema missing the list was fair? What about Saha, did he had a shot? I ask this becasue he had a pretty good season.

Yeah Saha probably was a little unlucky, Benzema looked unfit and overweight by the end of the season.

Saha was great for the start of the season but hasn't scored since that brace against Chelsea in February.

Domenech's probably gotten fed up with Saha. Whenever he's being called up he somehow manages to get himself injured. I can understand why he's not on the list.

Does Domenech dislike serie A ? Maybe his astrologer told him something bad might happen if he selects a player from that league ?

Menez and Mexes bizarre omissions. I don't know which coach is worse him or Maradona.

I reckon he does have a personal dislike for Serie A, especially since the France-Italy rivalries of the last 4 years. Menez has been great, and Frey has been consistently great in Italy... but he was poor in his last France call up.

How can Diaby be picked that is puzzling to me.Ok Nasri doesn`t have atm the ability to carry a team while Fab was absent and doesn`t take charge in the middle ,but his contribution is much better compared to Diaby I imagine it`s due to height possibly.

WOW! i never heard about laurent being linked to the national team! that'd be a great news for france (and a terrible news for every other national team :P )

isn't official yet for Blanc, but yesterday Didier Deschamps in linterview for l'equipe.tv, says "it's good to see Blanc with les Bleus etc..." shold be a secret and annonced soon, but Deschamps screw up.

This list is good, but we still miss a midfielder who also know how to attack. I hope Diaby can do this part, but he never get his chance.

3/3 for Rennes.

Only real surprise there is Abou Diaby. Didn't think he'd make it. Probably won't get much playing time anyway as he's the last choice midfielder in there. But he's young and can get better and I have to say Squillaci is kinda lucky too. Rami could've been picked and of course Domenech doesn't like Mexes otherwise he would be there and in starting line up.

Oh well, it's still a very good team and it can still do very well.

Good mix of youth, old, experienced, hunger, technique, physique, mentality! It's a pretty strong squad! Could be stronger of course but still... it's a good talented pool of players!

p.s. Nice to see Planus make it.

Yeah I don't think France needs Clichy.

I mean you have Evra and Abidal. Why take a 3rd choice LB? And it's not like he's even versatile, that's pretty much the only position he can play.

So I would probably drop Gael too.

Clichy's been a defensive liability since 2008 anyway.

I'd have Trémoulinas ahead of him in the pecking order atm. Maybe even Cissokho.

Hmm, maybe Domenech plans with Abidal as CB, as he already played
in Qualification next to Gallas.

In fact, I'd say Benoit and Aly should be ahead of him and would be if it were my team.

My vote goes to Clichy. Not need when you have Reveillere, Abidal, Sagna and Evra.
