i've got one named 'cult' near my neighbourhood...
(weird name, should be like 'game cult' or something, i really freaked my girlfriend the first time i said i was going to stop by the 'cult' to shop around!

they have the games on display, and they update the games and let play for a while before you decide to buy them or not!
i am sure you should have a store like that around the place you live!

Willo Flood is in the Celtic squad, he signed on 30 Jan. Well done Konami.
The game feels better and online has improved alot. For the first time my opponent and me had a green connectionlight for the full match. Was almost as playing offline.

seriouly!
they have a ps3 and xbox there with games they choose to display!
i buy all my games there so i asked them to put pes2009 and updated for me (just to see if the 1.40 update was out!)
and they did it, no problems!
the first time i played was actually in the store with one of the managers!
obviously the update is free! if it wasn't they wouldn't have done it!

when i say they've updated the game i MEAN they updated their ps3's game installation just like any of us would do at home!
not update the game so you owuld buy it!

Offline is the same for me. A complete night with my pals we did not notice any differences in the gameplay. That is after the 1.3 update, I guess the transfers/stats update adds nothing to gameplay.

i play in a ps3!
and i feel the gameplay smoother!
BUT it is not a different game!
i see differences, just what are, is very hard to tell!
it's like someone you know cutted it's hair, the first time you see her, your like,'you look different, but what is it?'
the new update gives me the same feeling!
although to be honest i'm mainly concentrating in gettin my german league properly in order once again, so i've got my nose stuck in the editing part, but i don't know
i really can't tell exacly what it is...
smoother... that's the word i feel that best represents this 'sensation'.
i don't think it is all my head!
specially because i came into this game with no expectations really not expecting to find nothing different gameplaywise...

The player who has taken the free kick is still unmovable if the freekick hits the wall and bounces back, nothing you can do there even after the patch.

The gameplay has improved only slightly post-patch.
If you didn't like it before, you won't now.
The main things I've noticed on PS3 is it's slightly smoother, volleying is better(A player doesn't try to header a ball that is very low anymore), and the CPU is a slightly tougher opponent.
It's still 99% the same game, but it's a welcome improvement for me.

Apart from the player stats, the most distinctive difference of the game is AI defence. It is harder to score. And defensive players are much more tougher. They use sliding tackle more than ever. Yep they defend well and position better, so it is harder to score but there are some benefits as well. We earn more penalties free-kicks and a lot of red cards to AI controlled team.
I also think passing and shooting improved slightly. And game is a bit faster.
There are still foolish things in the game. There is no Gudjohnsen in Barcelona. Maicon is so slow. Steven Gerrard is faster than Adriano and Ibrahimovic etc..

one thing i noticed is most of the bugs are gone .. at least from the 10 or so games ive played. Before, the bugs were terrible.. the goalies would deflect shots right into their own net and players would transparently go thru other players and take the ball. I haven't seen that with this new patch.
Mind you, last time i played 09 was back with patch 1.10

Winning Eleven 2009 (jap Version) was also got the update now; players added like Beattie (Stoke City), Gaël Kakuta, Mancienne (Chelsea), R. Oliveria (Real Betis), Savio Nsereko (West Ham), Chris Herd (Aston Villa).....etc, just noticed more about EPL....but also got missing some transfer like Ian Walker still at Bolton...Tom Cleverley at Manchester United....but only a little problem....and now I could edited my game now!

After a good amount of matches, I see the same game as before. Which is not bad, I really like PES 2009...

I am now downloading the PS£ Update 1.40 i think. I did not download 1.30 so will i have the changes to gameplay boots etc.?

The topic is misleading with the 1.40 patchtalk.
The patch is 1.30 and the update is 1.00.04 for online play.
Just wanted to clear that up for people who thinks there is another patch. =)

Exactly - I was going to say the same thing.
There is no 1.40 patch, it's just something someone in here made up as a way to distinguish between the 1.30 patch and the subsequent transfer update which, if you want it, you have to manually download from 'System Settings' in-game.
Many people are still failing to understand the difference between a 'patch' (which updates actual game data/coding to a newer version e.g. 1.30) and an 'update' (content downloaded separately and at will from the options menu once the game has loaded).
EDIT: Patches are also compulsory, you are forced to download the newest version (currently 1.30) when it becomes available. Updates, however, you can choose not to apply if you don't want. Personally, I have chosen not to download the winter transfer update, as in my (Premier League focused) option file I had already done all the transfers, and although the update provides many new created players, it also removes some players who may still be useful. Since there are only a handful of (key) Premier League players I need to create, I'm happy to do that myself and keep my game as is rather than update. But it's completely down to personal choice.
