I really hope Konami includes an option to disable some replays in PES 2022. I mean i can understand , a replay on a red card foul, or a dangerous attack situation.

But for good sake , every fuc..ing action has a replay in the game.

Add Just a little option

Replays:

Attacking ( On / Off)
Fouls ( On / Off )
Offisdes ( On / Off)

thats some of the things i was talking on previous posts, we need fluidity, dynamic , Play on..................

Konami please look at your games in PS1, they were fine, no replays after every fault in the game. Just continuos play.

Also if they could kindly change the button to take off the replays for the X instead the options button in PS5 will be very nice.

Hope someone in Konami read this forum!!!!!!!!

I agree, it's one of the most tedious things about the game currently, It's not helped that fouls are so frequent mostly because of dodgy collisions and simply brushing past someone without touching any buttons results in players going down like you've pushed over a child.

But the tedium comes from the sequence of
  1. Foul
  2. Brief pause, Transition to referee/player cutscene
  3. Brief pause, Obnoxious screen wipe
  4. Foul replay
  5. Brief pause, Obnoxious screen wipe
  6. Finally return to gameplay after a couple of seconds of immobilisation before free kick can be taken
UGH - This is too much for such a non event 90% of the time. This would be such a non issue if like you say, We're given options for customising the frequency of certain cutscenes and replays. Other sports games have them and at least on FIFA, the moment you hit :x: the cutscene/replay is IMMIEDIETELY terminated.

But yeah you're right, in previous generations of PES they made some good quality of life decisions in the interest of brevity and sometimes I must admit, I do like a bit of the exposition in sports games and cutaways to players reacting etc but it all comes down to choice. If I'm not in the mood and I want to very quickly get in the game because I'm chasing, Please don't piss me off further by forcing me to sit through all this.

UE4 is definetly moddable (fallen order for example) but it will probably be a good few months for the modding community to catch up to the current state.

Except for gameplay, and relating games modes and content only, I was ready to Make a video about removed features in Master league, but i found this, which summarizes things pretty good.

Although it is in Spanish, it is clear enough
The amount of removed content in PES over the years is shocking, but Konamis constant incompetence means we’re conditioned to it.

The decrease in attention to details coincides with the increase in esports popularity/ focus.

100% wont change for next gen.

Existing mods won't work. It still remains to be seen to what extent the new game would be moddable. Realistically speaking, we should be able to exchange textures, but not much more.

Not for me...not anymore...........I’m simply not interested in it until I see it’s worth buying. All the utter shite of waiting for info and screen shots with lots of crap being spouted by Konami and then enyoying the demo, for it to be radically changed is gone for me......my football game ship has sailed and I have no positive expectation for the next one.....it will be featureless, blamed on the next gen transition for it to be drip fed back in over a generational cycle.....as with every other gen before this one.

I don’t care if it’s UE4 or UE10.....silk purse and sows ear spring to mind.

Same for me. From last year i switched from buying Pes every year because i thought "hey, it's still Pes" to buying it only when it really attracts me. Pes 2021 was a data pack update, i could buy it at 10€ on Ps4 plenty of times, but i just won't do it because it feels like rewarding a greedy company.

I'm waiting for Konami to convince me to buy their game.

Yes, probably they will add the new identity in some future DP. And maybe this license includes AFC Cup too?
It would probably only make sense if they actually included the AFC Champions League 2021 tournament in another data pack.

Not likely for PES 2021 I think
They should better do the EURO 2020 graphics justice with tournament textures like the AFC
They can do this for esports but not for the actual game which is a shame

You may say I'm stupid but... the main thing that I want in eFootball are... MODS!

I really hope that we'll have a good modders community, and that it will not be too difficult to convert all our personals work on Unreal Engine. If the game is good, I'll definitely have a second "launcher" with no mods to play it, and if the game is just more beautiful... well, I'll want to mod it from everywhere to play with my friends. I know that the competitive side is really important, but nowadays, even if I play football games a lot, I just want to play it with my friends. I haven't played FUT for years and have never been attracted by PES online modes...

I've got a nagging feeling that PES 2022 (next-gen) might be delayed due to chip shortages and the subsequent affect on PS5 and Xbox series X/S console availability. There are reports that the new consoles might not be widely available until 2022!
I just hope that Konami don't release a botched PS4/Xbox One game on a new engine for commercial reasons, if those consoles aren't up to the job.

If it comes to it, I'd far rather they released an improved game based on Fox PES 2021, with mainly improvements that don't relate to the game's engine (and I think that could be quite a lot). That would give them time to both polish the game, and release to a wider user base. They will have to release something or other this year surely, whatever way it goes, although it might well be too late to change tack now.

I still think that one of the main reasons that PES 2014 was so badly received is that the PS3 couldn't run it properly, despite being told that the Fox engine was scaleable. If they'd delayed the release by a year and released on PS4, then a more polished game could have been released, and then things might have turned out very differently for PES.

Unreal Engine is pretty scalable, plenty of UE games on old consoles, there is. Expect UE for the next release, I do.

@andyaim that's exactly what i said but people said that "PS5 is the fastest selling console, there still PC and Xbox" etc.
But 1st, PES is more popular and selled on PS than other consoles/PC, and fastest selling isn't valuable neither reliable at all, as it's a matter of stock vs consoles buyed. It's a percentage, how fast the very small amount of available console they sell. But numbers of people having it... I don't know a tons, even some consoles geeks (i'm part of it) are blocked ftm.
Xbox you can forgot as they blocks the images storage, without it PES vanilla is a bit awful to be honest, and i would like to pray for them for having another system by sharing image from a website, and data, option files ect., but i'm pretty sure they won't change it.
PC... Well, the fact that you'll need a recent, not especially powerfull PC for making the game running...

Most sellingS countries don't really plays exclusively on PC. Or i know a lot of people having on both PS4 (for the 11 vs 11 community, more players) and PC too, but not PC only. PC and Xbox isn't in my opinion where it will sell the most for the 1st new gen version, for the reasons i wroted, it will remains the same is PC got a new-gen or a version PS4 enhanced. The first option : won't be sell that much because not a tons of people got a good enough PC especially in South America and many Asia countries as they care less, and are more focused on console and Mobile, and the second option won't sell because people are tired and want something feeling and looking new, especially if they saw the difference with New and Old gen versions.

Without doubt, they will be probably some remnants of Fox version : for the balance, as the balance is good, and it was hard to found to good equation with much more freedom than in PES 1-6 due to 360 movement and others stuffs like physics took in account with Fox etc.
I think they'll focus on problems especially which cause the game / limitated by the engine / to gets some alternatives, like ball physics for example, positionning or contacts.
Kojima cames and left them without saying a word or helping them to manage the engine. Actual PES would looks and plays differently with the real creator behind to say "no, if you want to do this, don't add that feature with the engine like that, i'll show you the way to put the algorithm correctly" or something like that. But no, unfortunetaly. And i readed the old article from the past about "not doing the same errors as before" concerning PS3 versions, and i agree with it : the issue is the physical and graphical engineer left them with a pretty big rubicube.

Of course I would like to have everything new and shiny, but the dev team does not have the money and resources for all of it at the same time.

For the sake of avoiding wasting time re-working the basics... again, I want the same gameplay as 2021, adapted to UE, with better 4K graphics, 60 FPS on replays, no screen freezes in replay transitions, and improvements in skill system and AI. Please focus on having a stable base to add lots of content and good game modes, which is what the game really needs right now.

If Konami goes the other way and makes a new gameplay system from scratch, good, I won’t complain, but then you should forget about a proper ML until at least PES 2023. It will probably be another proof of concept like 2014 was.

They will at least try to manage stuffs they wanted to add in previous PES but impossible due to the limits of the engine power to gets everything right.
There's many stuffs they probably needed to choose between two options, because it was the limit console based + engine.
Now they can add multiple things in the same time, things that don't breaks the balance of course, that's obvious (otherwhise there's no point, if it's adding for adding and say "we got new features!", and fucking up the game balance like some others games does.. Transforming into an arcadish game more than an action football game, it looks like a clear "no" if you check the evolution of the game since PES 2018-19 until now)
Personnally i imagine a PES 2021 balance feeling, motions etc., with lots of "add-ons" that will gives a fresh air to the game variety and looking too, animations etc.

I dont think they will start from zero, but if it is the same gameplay as 2021 that would be a huge disappointment

I hope they focus on player individuality more, especially speed and ball control, right now it feels like every player moves at the same speed, and only in certain situations the stats come into play, which makes no sense, a fast player is faster everywhere

Ball control i feel is too high for every player, even low rated defenders bring down the most difficult passes like prime Maradona, only to take heavy touches for no apparent reason elsewhere, to balance the game i guess

For controls, i hope close dribbling and first touch will be on R2 again, and not on the right stick, the dummy move should be the easiest trick to pull off, used to be just press R1 on the PS2, worked perfectly, dont even know how to do it now, i guess its more than 1 button

I don't know how chip shortages can delay PES... but whatever.

I'm very curious, why do you think there is a shortage of semiconductors?

Of course ... the reason is one .. demand is too high! Unusually high, unlike normal years, that is the reason.

Sony has no problems with sales of the PlayStation 5, if we compare it with the PlayStation 4, the numbers are almost the same. Sony produces and sells the same number of consoles as the last generation, maybe even a little more, the problem is that there is more demand than it was with the PlayStation 4. More demand for hardware in general as TVs, laptops, monitors, etc. People are at home looking for something to have fun with.

Microsoft is the same, record-high console sells, so excuses like " Still, nobody has consoles, why to make next-gen games? " is hilarious wrong.

Well it's a bit psychological, PS5 is like something that people aren't sure to get, so they/we try to have it asap; which wasn't the case for all others consoles.
There's no demand for something you're sure to get everywhere, any days.

But people, well myself included, fearing to not having it or a bit too late. Also as there's retro-compatibility with games boost, changing the experience (some looks like new game with patchs for PS5, sad that they didn't done it in 60 fps and filtering for Bloodborne or even Dark Souls 3)

For controls, i hope close dribbling and first touch will be on R2 again
Hate it too personnally, but that configuration opens a world of new combinations than R2 + left stick only. So i don't think they will step back.
It's probably the main reason why they changed it... I didn't checked exactly if there were stuffs we could'n't do before, but it was/it is, at least ftm, the same as R2 + Left stick.
The thing is > both stick opens tons of possibilities in terms of dribbling.
I think we all understood the "why", but the tons of combinations aren't implanted yet, or simply the whole system.

But if, in the worst case, they changed it because it was just because some people's complained as it was hard to push another button (i don't have an example in my head), i think they're going on the wrong direction. Because it remains exactly the same as removing your thumb to make a pass/shoot (well it's not a problem to me at all for the gameplay).
Well, i'm more thinking about the fact that it opens more possibilities a bit like Fifa with the ball pushing, than a dumb change of button for no reason... Even if it 's Konami lol

for shure some things will ported from FOX Engine! Entry Camera scene in 2021 is an asset from pes 2008 Generartion...

3 Years for a complete new game from scratch is way to less time to deliver a flawless product with tons of new features.

just hope they hire some UE specialists that know what they do

I think there are definitely chip shortages due to the pandemic ( causing higher demand but lower production). Just look at console and PC graphic card availability.

I had thought that PES 2022 would be next-gen only on UE5, but it seems that it might launch on UE4 (as UE5 is so new), primarily on last-gen hardware (due to hardware shortages, the fact that UE4 will run on last-gen hardware anyway, and that Next Gen owners would be catered for by compatibility with Last Gen). Apparently it will be fairly easy to upgrade code from UE4 to UE5 later.

I’m not sure what Konami initially envisaged and whether they plan/planned to release something on Last Gen anyway, alongside a true Next-Gen release. I wonder if circumstances have changed their plans.

Can UE4 be described as Next Gen? Not that that matters too much as such really, but as has been pointed out by others, it can be run on older hardware (and does), so should Konami have switched to it earlier on consoles? I haven't played PES mobile, how does that perform?

I’m as keen to see PES 2022 as anyone, but what I couldn’t stand is a re-run of the PES 2014 release, which put things back by years. I’d much rather they took the “it’s ready /released when it’s done” approach. But the reality is that Konami will need to release PES 2022 in some form or other this year.

I’m no programmer, but I assume that the new game won’t be written entirely from scratch. I just hope that a new engine will bring the improvements that everyone is hoping for without any backward steps/omissions from what we already have (I think FIFA on Ignite was better than on Frostbite for example). I hope I'm not being unnecessarily pessimistic, but past experience tells me that we might end up with a stripped down game.

You would think to a certain extent they may leverage the mobile version of PES2021. That's already using a version of UE, and has the basic game up and running
The mobile version isn't really a UE game, they are only using the Unreal Engine as a graphical wrapper there. At its core, it's still a Fox Engine game.
