EA SPORTS FC 24

A Rant.

Took a break from offline to have another go at online seasons...

While you get the occasional thrilling games online against another human, as per usual the rest of it is a murderous rage inducing toxic shit hole.

Why does EA allow:

  • Unskippable long goal celebrations that also include panning to the crowd, yet they disable match intros to encourage "getting on with it"?
  • Wankers who pause the game every 2 minutes in seemingly unlimited abundance, while the pause timer is a FULL 60 SECONDS WTF?
  • What's the point in having the option to restrict your opponent's team to match the quality of yours when it your 3 star team endlessly matches France, PSG and Man City endlessly anyway?
Not to mention the vanilla game's shit goalkeepers, unstoppable pace and Dragonball Z style ninja dribbling that makes you wanna shove the fat end of the dual sense up your fucking arse to distract you from the helplessness and suffering you're experiencing onscreen.

What has this world come to? How have we come so far 7 years ago only for this monstrosity to be so normalised, monetised and capitalised on?

The most disastrous part of FC 24 is when the ball falls under the feet of dribbler and speed players! It means that I feel nauseous that I can't describe in any way!

How could they make this part so awful ? how ? It means that it is beautiful and makes you feel nauseous. For example, I take the ball under the feet of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz and, for example, I want to dribble with them and enjoy the technical movements and foot to the ball of such players. Result ? A disaster in every sense. An absolute disaster.

I remember how much I enjoyed playing in PES 2021 when the ball went under the feet of technical players like Philippe Coutinho, and I mean players like this.

You really should not play with dribbler players in FC 24. It is shameful and a big tragedy. Because when the ball falls under the feet of technical players and dribblers, you will face a game that seems to have been made centuries ago. Even I cannot say centuries ago and generations ago. Because there is no football game in the past generations that I remember, the movements of the feet to the ball and playing with speed players and especially technical and dribblers were designed so disastrously.

Especially since the technologies related to animation in previous generations were much older and more backward than the current generation. Nowadays, graphics engines have seen great advances. Technologies related to motion capture and animation have also seen great progress, but the output of work in the animation department in football games in the current generation has become a big and disastrous setback.

Due to the fast response time of the animations related to the dribbling section, this section is completely focused on an online competitive game that sacrifices physics completely. In a way, it can be said that the case of football games is closed for me. From time to time, I play this FC 24 game due to my crazy interest in football and addiction to football games. There is no other football game available for us to test.

I am deeply disappointed and have no hope that FC 25 will be announced, that maybe the dev team will listen to us, the fans of simulation football games. Their priority is online gamers and especially gamers in the ultimate mod sector. This game has fundamental problems in some parts. Physics has no meaning at all in the part of foot to ball movements. The rotations of the players are like rockets, and even the animations of the players are very ugly and artificially designed. Also, the game has a lot of problems in transferring from one animation to another, and some of the running animations of the players are designed very artificially.

The technical problems of the gameplay also have their place and need a long discussion. But there is no hearing that anyone can hear our voice. Unfortunately, our generation of simulator football lovers has reached the end of the line and we have reached the end of the road. A bitter and painful ending.

Anyone know or have an idea when the Euro's DLC will be added? It would be around April when the standalone games would release, so it must be soon

Both world cup dlcs in FIFA 18 and FIFA 23 were released about two weeks before the tournaments started. They were just an added tournament and of course FUT related stuff, so nowhere near of what you'd expect from a standalone game.

So I wouldn't expect the Euros DLC before mid/end of May.

Absolute sham of a game as it stands, wont be long till its a free to play card fest, and single player will be gone forever. im still playing a 9 year old PES game, technically, its better on the pitch than anything available today.

If they look at Konamis model, you can trim your employee size, minimum effort, maximum profit.

I'm compiling a list of the positive and negative aspects of FC24. What are the strengths and weaknesses? I recently came across some feedback discussing the weaknesses of artificial intelligence in defense. Could this feedback be relevant? I appreciate the input from @Datiss77.

About Ai Mimic feature, I would like to understand your perspective on whether the intended goal of showcasing the athletes' distinct movements is effectively achieved and discernible to the observer. Please provide your insights on this matter.

In addition, I would appreciate your insights on the PlayStyle feature, as it is a feature that will be developed through growing partnership with Opta and EA.

I do admire the optimism of some people here.

But even if they do foster closer links with Opta, or implement more AI, it won’t be in the way you think. It will be just for the marketing press release.

The current gameplay is mainly rubbish because they refuse to allow time for a player to control a ball before playing it - the great god of responsiveness. And because the online players like twiddling the right stick and being skillers.

This isn’t going to change. Everything is secondary to those two.

Played a couple games yesterday (after 15 mins cooldown as the PS5 was running too hot after one match 🤣)

First match, Newcastle v Sheff Utd. Lost 5-2. Noticed that 'competitor mode' really amps up the AI on legendary. Second match, Union Berlin v Bayern, won 2-1 with the last kick of the game, the youngster Tel making his name, one on one with the GK. I'd turned competitor mode off, and the game felt a bit more fun and less utter bull.

Competitor mode on, I noticed the AI do mental things. Brereton Diaz scored where my player was blocking him just outside the box, and he flicked it behind his heel, and then fired into the bottom right corner. It didn't feel like a real goal someone would score, but it felt 'artificial' (obviously against the AI, as that what the A stands for, but you want some feeling or realism)

I'm going to continue FUMA Legendary I feel, but I'm done with competitor mode. Only really work for World Class and below I feel

Hello Mathgamer.
Thanks for all your work.
First, I want the cutscenes back before starting a game. It kills career mode and realism.

Pro :
- nice animations overall
- more starheads for Serial A
-nice goalkeepers

Cons
- bringback CPU intelligence like FIFA 16
- need more sliders
- less skating, more foot planting
-too more bugs this year : crashes, no ralenti for currentgen at mi half
- no more Moise Defenders : a striker goes to the goal and defenders didn't want to tackle and worse, they went away from him!

For anyone interested in Full Manual Clubs: We made a FUMA (full manuals controls) Clubs Discord.

Currently there are 250 members, and there is a 10v10 league going on with 9 teams competing. A lot of people from the former FUMA PES league (WAPes) finally moved over to FIFA since PES killed their 10v10 mode a while back, so that has helped with numbers.

There are also open rooms where you can sign up for 10v10 sessions, open to all. These tend be more active on the weekends.

If interested, fill in this form and at the end it will give you the Discord link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bQXuY8itnW3WTHpNvkfOK6Jc8vgwF1zj-hX96EBsLxw/edit?pli=1

So i downloaded the trial of the game. Where is the defence? I can run straight thru any team from kick off. Also jockey, contain w the player reaction and speed is god awfuly slow.

Is there any trick to improve defence of both cpu and user. Tried sliders but not much result.

guys some info on eafc24 when I start a match the introduction is very short and it skips the starting line ups it goes straight to kick off... how can I solve this? it does it in any mode and with any championship

Its default EA mate they have taken them out off next gen version

Then get into the pro scene and make some money
Just did a "spectator mode" too watching PSG v Dortmund (ai v ai) and Mbappe just darted from the kick off to the goal line like 10 times in a 5 minute game. So its a trash game, i dont know what the defenders doing but mostly nothing. Also efootball still doesnt have offline mode. 2024 ladies and gentlemen! All we dreamed of in 2004.

Why do you think the retro PES thread is always so busy? 😋

It sucks, but business is business and we ain't the key demographic anymore

Adidas did that with their Power Soccer games.

Here's an idea for EA. Companies pay to advertise in-game, and their logo gets put onto the advertising boards. They can also have a USA style TV design, where during a cut scene, the company logo appears at the bottom of the screen. Or "thanks for watching today's game, and we leave you with the highlights of the match, sponsored by... " And they play the highlights package with the company logo in the corner. There's ways to make it work that fit with the football aesthetic, as TV does it already anyway, at least in the Americas.

Does anyone else have feeling that animations and game-pace looking more natural and better in skill games scenarios than in real match.

Strange feeling, but sometimes I play those scenarios and enyoj - than try playing exebition match, and everything looks worse for me.

After latest patch, animations seems improved to me. I noticed better footplanting and animations in online seasons.
