PES 2014 Appreciation Thread

in case you all having problem starting the game, try these it works for me superbly:
1. turn iff anti virus before installing the game.
2. after finish installed the game, add it to anti virus exclusion list.
3. move download folder from ':C>program data>konami>pes 2014' to game exe directory.
4. at game exe icon, right click>properties>compatibility>run game using compatibilty wondows 8 :).

i managed to play the game with the latest version 1.16 & datapack 7.0 with file loader 1.2.9 running efficiently:
did it have World Challenge DLC? I remember its nice mode, but never play it until finish because at that times I only play on rental, don't own the console haha....

I have written to Gaming With TR (he is a PES modder who has modded rain in the past, as well as many other graphics, gameplay mods, etc. for many PES editions) to see if he could perhaps work on building a mod to add rain to PES 2014. It might be a long shot, but I think this mission of adding rain to PES 2014 is a worthwhile one, especially given the fact that it looked like it was seemingly close to happening back in the day.

That guy "TR" is fraud, he was called out for stealing/repacking other people mods years ago. A chance of him to make pes 14 mod is close to 0 🤷

He didn't reply anyway. There are some good mods in his website, didn't know he was called out for that though, I guess the best thing is not to take any sides in anycase, don't know what happened, I have found some of the tools in his website useful, and it's pretty active. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, back to the point, in terms of the PES 2014 rain mod, that would be an excellent addition to the game, even if ball physics are untouched, it would be worth it just for the sake of immersion and appearance. It's an older game and not that popular so it's not very probable, but maybe some modders might be interested in doing it.

i believe given your strong interest, they should try modding. dont give up. small steps can go a long way.

Should've been obvious He didnt reply because maybe you know... He didnt know anything about it🤷. Well i know what happened, i was there where his page was bombed with dislikes, angry emoji etc. I think he made an apology post about it. Anyway that's just my 2¢.

But expecting that guy for making mods for older pes is nah and this goes the same with all his gameplay mods, prolly just bogus recycle mods 🤷

hello guys, can any kind person help me install a realistic camera mod similar to the one in the video on my cracked pes 14? I have tried everything but my crack version does not read any camera settings files... can someone help me, the loader files are of no use to me... I am infinitely grateful. sorry my english

Guys, last time I played PES 2014, the control felt a bit heavy, and the dribbling was extremely difficult, I'd say. Heard there was a patch that partially solved this, and also some mods. I'd be interested in mods that makes the game a bit more realistic in terms of pace (slower passes maybe, and slower overall speed) but that at the same time keeps the game reactive, with possibilities of changing pace, different run sprint and jog paces maybe... A lot of movements in the midfield, even if subtle and slow and creating new passing lanes...

Anything close to that that you know?

Ok, so I got a smooth gameplay now, but the AI now will have script, and will always score in minute 7 when I play up to 90 minutes... Seems it's a never ending loop of dissappointment. Damn Konami. They made one of the best football games ever and suddenly the AI gets a banger, always around the same time of play. Seriously, I'd only like that there was a way to fight it.

@Hels The Ronin The only gameplay mod I use for PES 2014 is the catch-up bug mod, which basically fixes it. I used to use the coregameplay mod but eventually I decided to revert to the vanilla .exe, I like the ball physics in the vanilla exe better.

I've uploaded the catchup bug here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/fagmi0yrkod6og1/PES14_Mini_v1.4.exe/file

Hels, would you perhaps be interested in looking into a way into modding rain and/or cloudy conditions in PES 2014? Maybe we could try finding someone who could help us with this..

Sadly I know nothing about modding PES 2014, and now that new mods have arisen for PES 2021 and scripting seems to be in much better condition, I will be focusing in PES 2021. Though eventually I might try to come back to 2014, but is nothing assured.

If I ever go back and get into modding I'll let you know, for sure.

Don't bite. This game is marvellous to watch, but a nightmare to play.
You feel that you are trapped into long (beautiful though) animations, passing has targeting issues, player awareness is one of the worst in PES history, shooting is repetitive and very linear. A very good tech demo of FOX engine, (it's much more photrealistic than FIFA 24/eF24) but barely playable.
Too bad KONAMI ditched all this evolution and reverted to the primitive PES 2015, which a lot more responsive and playable, but it looked much worse compared to PES 2014.

Yeah it's a touch on the unresponsive side even though the reason behind it is we'll intentioned. It's really the only football game of it's kind where it places huge emphasis on inertia and footplanting, it's realistic barycentre is hugely ambitious and the world is not ready for pure simulation unfortunately for us to ever see the likes of it ever again.

Totally agree. Perhaps KONAMI should take into consideration the huge step from PES 2013 (which was not good at all, I wonder why this game is considered from many people as the best PES) and introduce the PES 2014 qualites and innovations more gradually. Very bold move, I really appreciate it.
Efootball 2022 v0.9 gave me some PES 2014 vibes, but then KONAMI chose the "playability" road again, making the game feel less natural and realistic.
Now it's a mess, it's like a Dr Frankenstein's Monster. Nothing works fine. Dribbling looks unnatural, ball phusics are a joke. The only thing I like is the stunning shot/pass modifier and the R2 analog running. Graphic and physics wise is much worse than PES 14.
Still I don't get why KONAMI can't fix simple things like ball should have four shadows on night matches, net physics, and shooting should have way more variety in terms of trajectory, spin etc.
Anyway, for now I am giving a chance to PES 2019. I love how the ball reacts and feels connected to the field (you can actuall feel the thickness of the turf).
Also animations are quite smooth yet quite responsive. Graphics are very good aswell (much better than PES 2020 and on) For me it's the best modern PES maintaining the "classic" PES feel. My biggest issue is the lifeless shooting.
I might try some dt18 from incas that might fix it somehow.

PES 2021 takes a lot of it and uses it quite well, and you can see this with mods for it that allow all the potential in the game. Problem of PES 2014 is that animation blending is not too good, since it was not prepared for a football game (fox engine was literally developed for Metal Gear V), and it felt clunky for this reason. In real life you can change direction quite faster, and be much more adaptable. In newer PES 2021, maybe the quality of the animations are not so good as PES 2014, I buy you that, and there was not so many simulation of physics to the level of 2014 in the sense of complexity, but being less complex, it is much more polished, specially with mods.

For me, one thing PES2020/2021 did good was recovering the right stick control from PES 2014. There are some mod by @TheProEvoManager that adds some .cpk to the download folder (you need to include it in the DpFileList) called controllerbody.cpk and TimeControllerBody.cpk that adds more gravity to the movements of the player and makes the movement really enjoyable and natural, making possible to walk/run/move quite realistically.

And ball physics can be also tweaked. Essentially, we have much more capabilities to tweak the game to our likings, and even we are now starting to be able to remove the scripting, and the AI is now much more complex and plays much more sophisticated and realistic, I'd say, without ping-pong passing and with ERRORS, instead of always passing perfectly to where you want. It is by far the best game I've ever played in that regard.

Can you help me find this exact mod? I have been searching but no luck.

My general about gameplay modding is that there is a fallacy that we can tweak some numbers and then magic happens. Sometimes it does, but not with no unwanted subconsequences. Also some modders loose any contact with reality and they can not even understand what they're doing, for example Holland made tons of gameplay mods, trying to emulate reality. What he managed is to make the game play in slow motion and ball feel like a bowling ball, because "slower=more realistic". Seeing chopped animation and atrocious footplanting in slow motion doesn't fix anything. It's just the same problem, but in slow motion.

I will be uploading a Thread with my gameplay settings that I hope it helps the community find a realistic gameplay. Will keep you updated. I still have to mod myself certain things related to positioning but the rest should work nice.
