The FIFA 10 PS3/360 Editing Thread

There was one of these for FIFA 09 so may as well start it now, for people to populate with free transfers once the game comes out (using that old trick where players from national teams without clubs can be made into free transfers for use with Manager Mode).

---

Until then though, I've just spent the past few hours putting this stadium list together, based on some personal experience and lots of picture gazing.

You can now change stadium assignments and add a stadium name for every team in the game (that's every team, not every stadium - so the same stadium can be given a different name for each team that has it assigned to them).

I've spoilered it because it's huge. Please let me know if you think any should be changed. (And please note that there is a 20 character limit, hence some shortened versions of names.) Your help is greatly appreciated!

(Also, if you have a similar list for your country, please let us know. We may as well have all assignments and stadia names correct now that the ability to edit them is there!)

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

Nice work :).

Interesting that Coventry's default stadium has been changed from Ivy Lane, I can't remember what this "Stadion Neder" looked like in 09, hopefully it has weather effects and a night setting.

I'll probably just change all the stadia in the league I decide to play in to ones which have full weather/night game options implemented, even if the actual stadium doesn't particularly resemble the real ground because you only see the stands on cutscenes and some replays :).

I saw a video with a night game and the lighting looked superb! No dark patches at the side of the pitch, this was a real annoyance in 08 and 09 where the night games looked like they were lit by energy-saving bulbs! Glad this seems to have been sorted :).

Oh no Rob, this isn't a list from the game - this is my list, picking the stadium I think is right for each team. Hence why I'm asking for help to make it perfect. There wouldn't be much point in me posting the list from the game! It's the editing thread, so all edit stuff goes in here.

I thought Stadion Neder was the closest stadium to the Ricoh Arena. Ivy Lane has no corners for a start. Shove FIFA 09 in and take a look, see if you can find one that suits better!

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

Can we get pics for the stadiums from somewhere? I remember they had a 09 stadium thread last year over at EA but all the pics are gone now. Would make it easier....even though it's a pain in the arse to do.

Good work Chris, although I have to admit I'll actually be using more exotic ones just to make sure I don't have to play at the same stadium too often. Although maybe with the changing weather/times it wont be so jarring.

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

Speaking of editing, I have searched quite a bit, but I have yet to find a clear answer. Is it possible to edit stats etc. in Fifa 10? I have not played Fifa since 99, so I'm a bit lost on this topic.

Now I'm not talking about putting every stat to 99, as some people seem to think whenever someone mentions editing stats in Fifa. I'm merely thinking if it's possible to edit stats to get a more realistic balance, as with PES (and PESstatsdatabase.com).

Sorry, I didn't read the post properly! That's great work then, I wouldn't have the patience to do that for so many stadia!
I agree that Ivy Lane wasn't the best stadium for us, it actually looked quite like our old stadium though (Highfield Road) :D.

I'd stick FIFA 09 on to have a look and give suggestions if I had my 360 :P.

No, you can't. It's down to the particular licensing that FIFA use. :(

I've looked for pictures of all the stadia in the game, can't find them. So hopefully you get your 360 back soon. ;)

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

Great work CD, I'll use this list in my game. I'll probably change my team's stadium to one with all the weather settings though to get the full experience.

Just out of interest, will all our editing disappear if we download the transfer update in January?

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

in-game you can change stats but you have to take away before you can add
Yeah - I meant that it hasn't changed, that you can edit but by taking other stats away first (which isn't really editing to me because you have to sacrifice areas of the player's game that might be perfectly accurate, in order to make another area more accurate). I've heard it's because of the licensing involved but it seems very strange. Sorry!

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

That's b0llocks though Chris (They might say that), I mean they have "random" fans doing the database and then some tweaks from EA. There is nothing licensed about them. Im pretty sure they don't have a secretary, or Rafa, going over the points saying, "No No, Kuyt is much better, forsure no?!" If they are licensed why can you edit them at all?!

The only argument would be to not have to download stats for all the online matches which could mean saving money on bandwith costs. Can't really see much else that they could use.

Yup. Licensing is not the reason. It's rubbish cover up the reason why they haven't changed the edit mode.

Re: The FIFA 10 Editing Thread

Guys, we are speaking about an editable database, so don't worry, you can edit your stats from outside the game in fifa.db :P!

If you want a PC editing thread feel free to start one, the games are completely different, as Chris started this one I think I can safely say this editing thread is for PS3/360 only, not PC.

i agree with u guys , some things about the edit mode are just very annoying, id point out those:

-Cant edit players body type, so if u think EA made F.Melo too fat u cant fix that for instance.

-Cant use all the boots there are in the game, theres over 6 nike boots in the game, and u can only choose 3 in the edit mode

-Cant edit non star-head players apperance(skin tone or hair style)

-Cant edit atributes the way u want, u still gotta decrease some stuff in order to increase what u want.

-Cant edit the cold weather acessories of players(give them undershirt or such)

those for me are the annoying things that EA wont bother adding to the edit mode for 3 years now.

Do we still have to unlock all the Adidas, Puma and Nike boots before we can assign them?

Also, do boot/appearence changes also get overwritten by January patches?

The last FIFA I bought was 08 and any boot changes I made also didn't get carried over to career modes either, which was disappointing.

there are no boots to unlock like in fif08...u can access all the boots that are avalible on the edit mode, but like i said there are a lot of colors that arent there like nike vapor white for exemple.

also, anwsering your question, yes ull loose all your boot assigments after the squad update:(

Hi everybody,

I am a big fan of Benfica and I would like to assign Emirats Stadium (which is nearly the same as Estadio da Luz) to my club. The problem is that Emirates Stadium is locked.

Is there any way to unlock in order to assign it to Benfica?

I just realised you now have complete freedom editing stats of created players, good move EA.
