The Retro-PES Corner

Yeah got all the old gripes back, wondering how on earth they are passing to a player not targeted, casually skipping over a ball that’s going out of play.

still having way more fun on it though over anything from 13 onwards, just wish I could get the widescreen sorted!

@DarthKebab

In mine I have this too

# Game's internal resolution
internal.resolution.width = 1920
internal.resolution.height = 1080

Not sure if that would be why though, but worth adding to see.

Also your DLL number is wrong as there are 10 that are not (#) not 8, plus there are two DLL.7's too

Here's my complete one from WE9LE

A mixed bag here. Some right weird goals; VAR, PES style; and a melee in Monaco!

Lol that 'penalty' against Galatasaray! Erdogan will be making a complaint to the UN. D'Agostino is clearly a long range deflection specialist, love how the defender made an honest lunge for the second one to send it in, very realistic. You had a great start against Monaco but they were like a dog with a stick in the second half, I am glad you held out for the point. Looks like Fulham will be hard to catch.

@mattmid Cheers that has worked to an extent, I am getting no borders but it’s stretched, when I load the game the highest the resolution let’s me go is 1280 x 1024

the settings file in the we9le folder is the same, should I overtype this?

I am Not the 100% most appropriate guy to help on this, but I assume what @mattmid said.. You are missing those basic lines in your config.

Ah saw now you fixed it.. As for stretched, I think you must enforce a resolution that you monitor and you PC GPU can handle..
For example in my 1280x720 when I enforce 1920x1080 my game gets out of screen borders.

do you change the resolution only in the kload file or do you overwrite the settings file or in game?

My laptop has a gtx1070 so should handle fine?

Ι remember when I had the same issue as you, it did not allow me to apply all resolutions. Only the 4:3 800x600 and some else.

Once I enforced l an internal resolution that was matching my screen resolution, I think it alloelwed me to use better resolution combinations in settings. But for this last I am not 100%, I can't recall right now, must check my laptop when I will return home.

Yeah the kitserver resolution over rides that so don't worry about the settings resolution other than making it full screen.

Hmm. Run the lodcfg.exe, you should see a new window and there's a tick box in there for automatic aspect ratio for widescreen, see if it's ticked. If not tick it and that should sort it I think.

You can also set the graphics detail higher there if you want to if they aren't already set (change them all to Very high-detail to do that)

Hi hope everyone is keeping well
Great thread something right up my street love all the old classic pes games and go back playing the classics from time to time.
At the moment it's pes17 classic internationals ratmundo and classic clubs from various editors (ratmundo, pesmotd, h777man etc....)

Might be a long shot but I have been trying to find the full classic Italian league to add to the file can't seem to find it anywhere but have the 2 tier English, top Spain and Germany.
Would anyone on here happen to have the file on here or be able to point me in the right direction where to find it.

Kind Regards
Karl

2006

As expected, my Sao Paulo side never got near Barcelona in the title race, and on the final day of the season a draw meant that Dynamo Kiev pipped me to second place. Still, I quite enjoy doing the qualifying group for the European Cup, so it didn't worry me too much. I wasn't playing very well in the second part of the year, not scoring much or creating flowing moves, though I did still manage to score in almost every game. I met Barca in the D1 cup final and won, which was obviously pleasing; Sao Paulo's first trophy.

Mineiro, one of my AMFs, was my leading scorer at the halfway point with 6 goals, but he didn't add any to that tally during the rest of the season. Castolo had a good year; only a third choice forward, he nevertheless netted 5 times in the league and got one in the cup too. Tall striker/winger Grafite, who had scored 6 in Division 2, only managed 4 league goals, whereas Amoroso achieved 8.

PES United, having briefly escaped the relegation zone mid-season, were drawn back in by the gravity of fate and went down along with Charlton Athletic. Coming up to replace them were promotees Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

Over the summer I made two further acquisitions; a young free agent named Ederson can play in all three central midfield positions, and I bought AMF/WF Leandro from FC Porto in part exchange for one of my surplus keepers (Sao Paolo begin the game with four!). That was all in the name of providing extra cover for my first teamers.

2007

I began the new campaign in good fashion, beating PSG 4-0. My league form contiuned to be good, with only a few draws and no defeats as of yet (just past halfway), including a 1-0 win over Barca. In my Euro qualifying group I had Udinese, Inter and Sevilla; Inter ended up winning the group thanks to me drawing half my games, but I was a comfortable second in the group and beat Inter in one meeting. Having started the proper EC group now, I am doing well; beat Arsenal 1-0 before drawing with them 1-1 in the second game, beat Juve 2-1 with a late winner and thrashed Inter 5-0! I often have good games against Inter, so was happy to have them in both groups. I have yet to play the two Italian clubs for a second time, but none of the three have established dominance over one another so are all on low points, and as a result I am confident of reaching the knockout stage. In the domestic cup things are looking up too; I am in the semis against Dynamo Kiev. Barca were surprisingly knocked out on away goals in the opening round, against Rhone.

My scoring is going pretty well at the moment, it is probably about the same in total as I had at this point in 2006. I'm only two points behind Barca, so let's hope I can keep it up! I will be playing them after my next European game, I think. Grafite has already surpassed his paltry tally of last season with 5 goals so far, and Amoroso is on 8. A decent amount has come from my other strikers and a few midfielders too, though Castolo only recently got off the mark in the last few games.

At the halfway stage one of my reserve midfielders, Marco Antonio, caught the eye of struggling West Brom (they are at the bottom of the predominantly English league, which is nevertheless being led by AC Milan); he has gone on loan to them for the rest of the season. I also made another purchase, this time a 17 year old striker. I thought I had better, as three of my forwards are getting on a bit; Amoroso is 33 and his best years were gone before I took the reins, although he is still an automatic starter at the moment alongside Grafite. Falcao, a dribbling winger/striker who often comes on late in games for Amoroso, is 30 and has reached his peak, so his decline also has to be taken into account. Lastly of course there is Castolo, who is slowing down and losing venom in his shot. I still hope to make use of him and the other two in years to come, but I must prepare to have young blood and reserves to come on when these old warhorses start getting tired in the second half of games. So then, who was my 17 year old signing? Romario! Can't leave him hanging around without a club, now can we? It cost me a fair portion of cash though; I had to offer wages of over 1400 for him. He hasn't disappointed though; on his debut he scored the opener against PSG in a 2-0 win.

The Galatasaray pen was a nonsense from start to finish. So soft, so saved, and then the simple, VAR-free world of retro PES as it crossed the line.

Couldn't quite believe the D'Agostino double. After the PES United goal I thought: you don't see that every day. Before proceeding to do it again on the same day, about ten minutes later, in the very next game.

Playing WE9LE reminded me of my complaints about the refs in pes5, they wont let anything go even when they should be playing the advantage!

That's quite unfair. As you can see from this example, the game was far ahead of his time in properly applying the laws of the game, even going so far as integrating the most advanced Espimas Goal Line Technology.

I'm sure the GK is diving the wrong way for a very good reason 😂

He's diving the right way, since the ball came from a header or a scramble, or both, from his left side. He just missed the save entirely and Espimas somehow blocked it right before the line with his magical head-chest combo. The ball then proceeded to hit Ivarov's back that acted as a pillow as he fell to the ground and allowed a easy kick to trash it away from Espimas.

Yeah got all the old gripes back, wondering how on earth they are passing to a player not targeted, casually skipping over a ball that’s going out of play.

I know global stat changes is not everyone's cup of tea, but increasing Team Work globally by about 15 points reduces the skipping over the ball.

Did I read somewhere recently if you change GK to an outfield position their GK stats still go up?

Can you explain please Titch?

Next two matches in my ML.

First of all we are at home to Man United. Tough game this one, which once again shows there is a difference between good and bad teams in this PES.

Then we are playing away against Burnley. This match for me has to be one of the best ones I have played in my ML. It was full of drama!

Excellent come back with only 10 men. And what a fantastic ball by Philips to put Matt Rush through who then set up Sargent. How important will that point prove to be at the end of the season as we no doubt will be in a relegation battle. Only one win in six so far :(

@geeeeee No stopping that Sargent is there!? I wonder if you're going to get a bid on him this season. What are your rules again as regards having to sell him? Adds a nice touch of reality.

@geeeeee No stopping that Sargent is there!? I wonder if you're going to get a bid on him this season. What are your rules again as regards having to sell him? Adds a nice touch of reality.

He has been excellent Matt and he is kind of like a Southend ‘Harry Kane’. He drops deep, he gets in the box, he is a poacher, he can score from range. He missed a few chances against Man United though but he is only 22.

I really hope he doesn't get any offers to move as i think he will.

Here are my ‘rules’ for offers.

First of all, the BUYING TEAM has to offer more than the player is worth otherwise i refuse it.

Then...

The player’s MENTALITY stat and the RANDOM NUMBER are the main factors in deciding if a player will accept an offer.

RANDOM NUMBER = 1-100
MENTALITY = 1-99

If the RANDOM NUMBER is equal to or higher than the MENTALITY then the player accepts the offer. Otherwise he will refuse it.

The PLAYER’S TEAM rating and the BUYING TEAM rating will cause a negative or positive response to the RANDOM NUMBER and ultimately, the decision.

Team Rating is either A, B, C, D, or - (i think there is also S rated teams which is the highest)

Both teams rated same = 0

Buying team 1 higher = + 10
Buying team 2 higher = + 20
Buying team 3 higher = + 30
Buying team 4 higher = + 40

Buying team 1 lower = - 10
Buying team 2 lower = - 20
Buying team 3 lower = - 30
Buying team 4 lower = - 40

So for example if Liverpool come in to buy Sargent it would work out something like this.

Liverpool rated A
Southend rated D

Liverpool are 3 ratings higher which means they get +30 to the random number.

Sargent’s Mentality is 68 (i think) which means if the random number is 38 or more then he will join Liverpool.

If there are more clubs offering then I do the same for each team.

It’s a shame that the Mentality stat does not change because it would be good if the player became more ‘loyal’ over time. I was thinking if i could incorporate the Team Work stat with the random number, because at least the Team Work stat can get higher when they have played at the club longer.

Hope that all makes sense :P

@geeeeee Makes perfect sense. I really like that it adds an element of suspense to each bid you get and that element of possible disappointment or a real 'yes' moment when he turns it down :)

What if you were to add some fraction of games played to the mentality stat? Perhaps 1 point for every 10 games? That would add a loyalty factor into his decision. Like you say the longer he stays the more loyal he becomes which number of games played would be a pretty logical stat to use. So I guess he's played close to 30 games now? So would be getting near to 71 now for his 'loyalty' (games/10 + mentality)

I can see it now

Sargent: Boss, I'm knackered.
Geeeeee: I don't care, you're playing in the cup I need to buy your loyalty!

@geeeeee
I thought I'd seen somewhere on here if you change GK to let's say a CF, there is something with the player ID where the game thinks they are still a GK and GK skills change during ML. Maybe I dreamt it haha
